The EHS Manager provides strategic and technical leadership to ensure best-in-class Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) performance across H.B. Fuller’s Latin American business and facilities. This role leads compliance management, project support, and continuous improvement initiatives, including Greenfield site development and regional standardization.
Responsibilities
- 40% – EHS Compliance Management Identify and translate EHS requirements from applicable regulations for facilities and business units
- 40% – EHS Compliance Management Train and develop EHS coordinators and facility managers/engineers
- 40% – EHS Compliance Management Promote use of EHS tools, manuals, and databases across LATAM
- 40% – EHS Compliance Management Develop programs based on existing and emerging regulations
- 40% – EHS Compliance Management Coordinate with insurance carriers for safety and property loss activities
- 40% – EHS Compliance Management Support and coordinate Process Safety Management activities
- 40% – EHS Compliance Management Complete regulatory submissions (e.g., TRI, NPRI, HAPs, Air Emission inventories)
- 40% – EHS Compliance Management Ensure timely and accurate completion of compliance tasks and agency submittals
- 40% – Project Work Spend quality time across LATAM sites to coach and support local EHS and manufacturing teams
- 40% – Project Work Strengthen capabilities and ensure consistent implementation of standards
- 40% – Project Work Foster a culture of prevention and continuous improvement
- 40% – Project Work Lead EHS implementation for new plant start-ups (Greenfield projects)
- 40% – Project Work Develop and implement EHS systems integrating corporate and local standards
- 40% – Project Work Collaborate across regional teams to align project safety practices, permitting, and contractor management
- 20% – Compliance Review & Strategic Support Review and guide corrective actions from audits and inspections
- 20% – Compliance Review & Strategic Support Inspect corrections for completeness and fulfillment of recommendations
- 20% – Compliance Review & Strategic Support Review CERs and facility/process plans to promote EHS best practices
- 20% – Compliance Review & Strategic Support Coordinate reviews with Corporate EHS and insurance carriers
- 20% – Compliance Review & Strategic Support Provide strategic input on facility design to streamline EHS practices
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in EHS management, preferably in a multinational manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of LATAM regulatory frameworks and compliance standards
- Experience with Process Safety Management and risk assessment methodologies
- Ability to travel across Latin America to support site-level implementation
- Strong communication, training, and stakeholder engagement skills
Preferred Requirements
- Experience leading EHS programs for Greenfield projects
- Familiarity with global EHS systems and corporate standardization initiatives
- Knowledge of regulatory reporting tools and databases
- Experience coordinating with insurance carriers and external auditors
- Bilingual (Spanish/Portuguese and English)
