Jobgether is seeking a mid-level Backend Developer (Node.js) in Brazil to design, build, and evolve scalable backend services. You will work with REST APIs and GraphQL, connecting relational and NoSQL databases while prioritizing code quality and security.

You will collaborate with frontend, mobile, and product teams, contribute to architecture, and help drive continuous improvement in a modern engineering environment.

Qualificações

• 5+ years of backend experience with Node.js.
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Experience building REST APIs and GraphQL services.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB.
• Familiarity with Git and modern version-control practices.
• Experience with Jest, Mocha, or Chai.
• Experience with microservices and messaging systems (Kafka/RabbitMQ).
• Cloud experience (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Docker and Kubernetes familiarity is desirable.
• CI/CD (Jenkins/GitHub Actions/GitLab).
• Observability tools like Prometheus/Grafana/ELK desirable.
• Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
• Strong problem-solving, proactive mindset, and good communication.

This is an opportunity for a mid-level Backend Developer to build and evolve scalable digital products using Node.js.
You will design and maintain APIs and backend services while working with both relational and NoSQL databases.
The role combines hands-on development with a strong focus on code quality, security, performance, and scalability.
You will collaborate closely with frontend, mobile, and product teams to turn technical requirements into reliable solutions.
You will also contribute to architecture decisions, refactoring, code reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Accountabilities:

• Design, develop, maintain, and optimize backend APIs and services using Node.js.
• Build and improve integrations with relational and NoSQL databases, ensuring performance, reliability, and data consistency.
• Apply software engineering best practices, including clean code, automated testing, version control, and maintainable development patterns.
• Collaborate with frontend, mobile, and product teams to understand requirements and define effective technical solutions.
• Monitor and improve application performance, scalability, reliability, and security.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to knowledge sharing and mentoring for junior and mid-level developers.
• Contribute to backend architecture, system improvements, refactoring initiatives, and long-term technical sustainability.
• Work with microservices and messaging technologies to support distributed and scalable applications.
• Help identify technical risks and proactively solve complex backend engineering challenges.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of professional experience developing backend applications with Node.js.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience building REST APIs and/or GraphQL services.
• Advanced knowledge of databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB.
• Strong understanding of Git and modern version-control practices.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Jest, Mocha, or Chai.
• Experience with microservices architectures and messaging systems, including technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Knowledge of backend application security practices and secure software development.
• Experience working with cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes is desirable.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI is a plus.
• Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK is desirable.
• Experience with Agile methodologies, including Scrum or Kanban, is beneficial.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, proactive mindset, clear communication, collaboration, and a focus on quality and results.
