O candidato ideal deve ter um mestrado em currículo e/ou instrução e pelo menos cinco anos de experiência no ensino. O papel envolve facilitar o treinamento, documentar práticas curriculares e colaborar com equipes acadêmicas para garantir um ambiente de aprendizado eficaz. Qualificações

  • Mestrado ou certificado de especialista em currículo e/ou instrução (preferencial).
  • Especialização em redação curricular ou desenvolvimento profissional.
  • Mínimo de cinco anos de experiência em ensino.

Responsabilidades

  • Facilitar e treinar equipes de professores e líderes acadêmicos.
  • Documentar e alinhar o currículo escrito, ensinado e avaliado.
  • Desenvolver estratégias para feedback e monitoramento do crescimento estudantil.
  • Estabelecer confiança e credibilidade com a comunidade escolar.

Deeper Learning Coach

Primary Purpose of the Position A Deeper Learning Coach is a non-evaluative, support role that provides research, resources, and professional development to staff about curriculum, instruction, and assessment.

The person in this position reflects a passion for the mission of Graded School, demonstrates understanding and respect for a diversity of cultures and language learners, and supports teachers as they strive to meet the expectations within the school’s principles of teaching and learning.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Facilitate and train teacher teams, individual teachers, and academic leaders to:
  • Implement Graded’s Learning Principles and Practices throughout all of our classroom settings;
  • Document and align the written, taught, and assessed curriculum;
  • Develop appropriate strategies for effective feedback and monitoring of student growth and achievement;
  • Support the growing student sophistication in using and measuring the effectiveness of deeper learning strategies in students’ learning;
  • Design and deliver classroom-based professional learning experiences for Graded faculty that:
  • Incorporates Graded’s Principles for Professional Learning;
  • Models Graded’s Learning Principles and Practices;
  • Use and apply adopted technology tools and resources for curriculum documentation and curriculum management;

Establish trust, rapport, and credibility with the entire school community;

Collaborate and communicate as a member of multiple teams in the school:

  • With other Deeper Learning Coordinators as a member of the Teaching and Learning team;
  • With school administrators as a member of the Academic Leadership Team;
  • With the Director of Student Growth & Performance to monitor and assess teacher and student growth and progress;

Participate in ongoing professional learning experiences to enhance the support provided to teachers and students;

Fulfill community support roles (eg, student supervision) and other duties as assigned in a similar fashion as classroom teachers.

Specific Divisional Support

Collaborate with the administration and other teachers to identify needs for professional development, and then research, plan, and facilitate teacher training (during pre-service week, divisional meetings, team leaders, and PD days).

Support the administration in developing and implementing a strategic plan for school-wide and division initiatives.

Based on need, a coach may also:

  • Support goal setting, norming and dynamics of one division’s leadership team in partnership with the Principal.
  • Mentor teacher leaders (subject area, grade level, department heads) in the development and facilitation of meeting agendas.
  • Help facilitate new teacher orientation workshops and transition activities throughout their first year in order to develop their understanding of key curriculum, instructional resources, and assessment practices.
  • Document instructional practices through photo, video, articles, or blog posts, with the goals of communication with other stakeholders, or to facilitate future professional development.
  • Support the organization of division-wide international orders.
Certifications and Education - Required
  • Master’s degree or a specialist certificate in curriculum and/or instruction (preferred)
  • Specialty expertise in one of the following areas:
  • curriculum writing, professional development
Experience - Required
  • Minimum of five years of classroom and/or ensemble teaching experience.
Desired
  • International teaching experience or experience in diverse educational settings.
  • Coaching experience or training.
