The Position

As Data Engineer in the Transport Solutions team, you will be part of the Data, Analytics & AI organization which is an integral part in driving the transformation of the Volvo Group into a data driven culture. Here you will be creating and managing environments for Advanced Analytics, Machine Learning and AI to deliver value in the form of data-centric services to both our colleagues in Connected Solutions and across the Group.

You will be part of a Product Team and will work in close collaboration with the development team, Product Owners, User Experience designers, Front and Back-End Developers, Business Analysts and also Data Analysts and Scientists of other teams.

You will facilitate data exploration and advanced analytics activities by pre-processing, cleaning and structuring data which will be used for various dashboards and AI models in operation. We are a team that work together for continuous improvement, whereas you will be part in driving advancements in data acquisition, testing, tooling, automating system installation and configuration to enhance data quality. You may be involved in performing analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.

As part of the Transport Solutions team, you will be contributing to the roadmap and providing runtime support for services, using AI-enabled metadata management tools and modern data preparation and integration techniques.

Your Profile

In this role, you will bring:

• You are graduated with a degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems or any related field.
• Data & Engineering has been your world for at least 3 - 5 years.
• AWS Cloud platform expertise (preferentially Serverless tools).
• Experience in implementation in data pipeline and workflow management tools.
• You have an advanced experience working with: Python, SQL, relational and no-relational databases.
• You are also proficient in manipulating, processing, extracting and analyzing value from large, disconnected and/or unstructured datasets.
• Data analysis experience to design robust data pipelines and translate complex datasets into actionable business insights.
  Ideally, you are familiar with one of the Visualization tools (Power BI, BO, Qlik).
• Experience on Databricks and Machine Learning implementation.
• You are comfortable working in a diverse, complex and fast-changing landscape of data sources
• You care about agile software processes, data-driven development, reliability, and responsible experimentation.
• Capacity to work in an international environment using English.
• Team player - having a sharing and collaborative mindset.
• Enjoy problem-solving, have an analytical mindset, and enjoy working in a structured way with space to innovate.
