We are looking for an experienced Data Collection Lead to oversee end-to-end data collection projects supporting the development and improvement of artificial intelligence and machine learning models. In this role, you will translate complex client requirements into actionable collection strategies, ensuring the right participants, resources, methodologies, and quality standards are in place. You will manage distributed teams, freelancers, and external vendors while coordinating projects across different data types, including images, video, audio, speech, and multimodal datasets. From pilot execution to large-scale production and final delivery, you will ensure projects meet quality, budget, and timeline expectations. Working closely with clients and internal stakeholders, you will solve operational challenges, mitigate risks, and continuously improve collection processes. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of impactful AI data programs and contribute directly to the development of next-generation AI technologies.

Accountabilities
  • Manage assigned data collection projects from initial planning through execution and final delivery, translating client requirements into structured project plans, timelines, milestones, and workflows.
  • Design and implement collection strategies and methodologies based on project objectives, defining participant profiles, geographic coverage, devices, environments, metadata requirements, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate pilot collection activities, evaluate initial results, identify operational gaps, and refine methodologies before scaling up production.
  • Identify, evaluate, recruit, and coordinate freelancers, field teams, communities, agencies, and external vendors according to their capabilities, availability, cost, reliability, and quality standards.
  • Lead resource and capacity planning, ensuring the appropriate people and operational resources are available throughout each project while adjusting allocations as requirements evolve.
  • Establish and manage data quality assurance and validation processes, ensuring collected datasets meet client specifications and addressing recurring issues, rejections, corrective actions, and recollection requirements.
  • Maintain direct communication with clients and key stakeholders, providing updates on project progress, requirements, feasibility, risks, and operational challenges while translating feedback into actionable plans.
  • Monitor project timelines, budgets, dependencies, commitments, and delivery risks, proactively resolving bottlenecks and escalating issues with practical recommendations when necessary.
  • Develop and maintain standardized operating procedures (SOPs), templates, checklists, and reusable methodologies to improve consistency, scalability, and operational efficiency.
  • Contribute to strengthening data collection capabilities across different AI applications, industries, geographic regions, and data modalities.
Requirements
  • 3–5 years of professional experience in project management, data operations, operational leadership, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience managing data collection or operational projects from initial planning through final delivery.
  • Direct exposure to egocentric AI data collection projects is highly valued.
  • Experience with image and video collection, speech and audio recordings, multilingual datasets, computer vision, multimodal data, or LLM and generative AI projects.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML data requirements and Human-in-the-Loop (HITL) operations is a significant advantage.
  • Strong experience coordinating distributed teams, freelancers, field resources, and external vendors, including resource evaluation and capacity planning.
  • Ability to balance project quality, costs, timelines, resource availability, and operational feasibility while maintaining client expectations.
  • Strong client-facing communication skills, with the ability to clarify complex requirements, manage expectations, communicate risks, and recommend practical alternatives.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, track deliverables, and coordinate stakeholders effectively.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on identifying root causes and implementing sustainable solutions.
  • Proactive and ownership-driven mindset, with the ability to work independently, adapt to unfamiliar challenges, and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Benefits
  • 100% remote work: Flexibility to work from your preferred location while collaborating with a globally distributed team.
  • End-to-end ownership: Meaningful responsibility for planning, organizing, executing, and delivering complex data collection programs.
  • Exposure to diverse AI projects: Opportunities to work across multiple industries, geographic regions, data modalities, and AI applications.
  • Direct impact on AI development: Contribute to providing high-quality datasets that enable AI companies to develop, train, and improve intelligent systems.
  • Innovation and continuous improvement: Opportunity to design reusable methodologies, optimize operational workflows, and strengthen data collection capabilities.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Work directly with clients, internal teams, freelancers, and external vendors across the AI data delivery ecosystem.
