Job summary

Cone Health Medical Group is seeking a CT Technologist to perform CT imaging with focus on patient safety and high-quality results. The role involves operating CT scanners, adhering to protocols, and documenting exams in CHL/PACS while ensuring accurate charges and patient care.

Candidates should be graduates of radiology programs. Nights and weekend rotations required, and on-call duties apply. Position is part-time (0.8625 FTE) with benefits eligibility.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required, plus completion of Radiology/Imaging program.
• Licensure or certification as CT technologist per ARRT or NMTCB acceptable options.

Responsibilities

• Operate CT scanners to produce cross sectional images per protocols.
• Adhere to exposure safety and ALARA principles to minimize radiation dose.
• Document exams in CHL and PACS and ensure accurate billing.

The CT Technologist is responsible for providing high-quality patient care during Computed Tomography (CT) procedures using approved workflows and procedural protocols. Working under direct supervision, this position uses specialized computerized x-ray equipment to produce cross sectional images of the human anatomy which aid radiologists in diagnosing a wide variety of diseases and disorders.

Essential Job Function

• Operates head or body x-ray scanners which create a computer-generated cross-sectional image, commonly called a CAT (Computed Axial Tomography) Scan.
• Performs routine and special CT exams adhering to established protocols to minimize additional imaging and limit radiation dose, maintaining exam productivity within established benchmarks.
• Completes all exams and documentation in Computerized Health Information (CHL) and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), accurately identifying all charges associated with studies and addressing errors for a seamless workflow.
• Educates and prepares patients for their examinations to enhance patient understanding and cooperation during testing and promote a positive patient experience.
• Demonstrates commitment to safe practices, Just Culture, and As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) principles to eliminate errors and enhance patient outcomes.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
