What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)

• Lead and mentor lower-level Paralegals and Paralegal Interns within the Litigation Unit
• Assist attorneys in preparing cases for trial and various hearing matters
• Conduct legal research and draft legal documents, including pleadings and memoranda
• Analyze public records requests and prepare responses in compliance with applicable laws
• Operate with a high degree of independence in pursuing appropriate courses of action

What is Required (Qualifications)

• Minimum of two (2) years of full-time experience in legal research, drafting pleadings, and responding to discovery
• Current employment as a County Counsel Paralegal in San Bernardino County
• Completion of a paralegal program approved by the American Bar Association or equivalent educational qualifications
• Ability to analyze and interpret state and federal law
• Strong writing skills and ability to produce original legal documents

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

• Advanced experience in preparing complex legal documents and matters
• Familiarity with civil litigation in a California County Counsel's Office
• Experience in leading or mentoring staff
• Ability to conduct complex legal research from various sources
