Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. (AJG) in Brazil seeks a Compliance Officer to lead a local team, ensuring adherence to Brazilian regulations and global standards. You will act as regulatory liaison across the region and guide ethics, AML, and market conduct programs.

You will shape policies, manage investigations, and collaborate with executive leadership to embed compliance into strategic decisions in a fast-paced multinational setting.

Qualificações

  • Law, Business, Accounting or similar degree required.
  • Master’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • Extensive experience in Compliance roles in multinational insurers or financial services.
  • Advanced English proficiency; Spanish desirable.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with ability to influence across all levels.
  • Experience leading and developing teams in fast-paced environments.
  • Strategic mindset with hands-on problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Proven experience in managing compliance aspects of mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence and integration.

Responsabilidades

  • Lead a Compliance team to deliver impactful strategies aligned with Gallagher’s values and business objectives.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of local compliance programs meeting global standards.
  • Liaise with Legal, Data Privacy, Data Security and related areas to govern compliance.
  • Conduct regulatory, AML, third‑party, and reputational risk assessments, defining mitigations.
  • Develop and maintain Compliance, AML, market conduct, and ethics policies and procedures.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and manage mandatory reporting, including suspicious activity reporting and internal investigations.
  • Coordinate third‑party due diligence and support regulatory aspects of M&A activities.
  • Deliver training on Compliance, AML, ethics, and market conduct.
  • Advise senior management on regulatory risks and embed Compliance into business decisions.
  • Lead and develop the Compliance team in Brazil to execute local and global objectives.

As a Compliance Officer in Brazil, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our operations align with local regulations, global standards, and ethical practices. This is an opportunity to lead compliance efforts in a multinational environment, working closely with teams across the region to safeguard our reputation and support sustainable growth. You’ll also lead a small team of compliance professionals, fostering collaboration and driving results in a dynamic and fast-paced industry.

How you'll make an impact

In this role, you’ll lead and inspire a Compliance team to deliver impactful strategies that align with Gallagher’s values and business objectives. You’ll oversee the design and implementation of Compliance programs tailored to local regulations and Gallagher’s global standards. Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring compliance with Brazilian laws and regulations applicable to insurance and reinsurance intermediaries and acting as the local Compliance Officer and regulatory liaison.
  • Implementing global Compliance standards locally and overseeing compliance governance, internal controls, and liaising with Legal, Data Privacy, Data Security and other related areas.
  • Conducting regulatory, operational, AML, third‑party, and reputational risk assessments, and defining mitigation measures.
  • Developing and maintaining Compliance, AML, market conduct, and ethics policies and procedures.
  • Monitoring regulatory developments and managing mandatory reporting, including suspicious transaction reporting, PEP monitoring, and internal investigations.
  • Conducting third‑party due diligence and supporting Compliance aspects of M&A activities, including due diligence and integration.
  • Delivering Compliance, AML, ethics, and market conduct training, and promoting a strong culture of integrity and conflict‑of‑interest management.
  • Coordinating efforts and supporting regulatory inspections.
  • Advising senior management on regulatory risks and developments and embedding Compliance into business decisions, being part of the Executive Leadership Team of the Brazil operation.
  • Leading and developing the Compliance team in Brazil to ensure effective execution of local and global Compliance objectives.
About you
  • Law, Business, Accounting or similar degree (required), with a master’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • Extensive experience in Compliance roles, preferably in multinational organizations within the insurance or financial services sector.
  • Strong knowledge of local regulatory frameworks and global Compliance standards.
  • Advanced English proficiency, both written and spoken. Spanish desirable.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
  • Experience leading and developing teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • A strategic mindset with a hands‑on approach to problem‑solving and decision‑making.
