Overview

The AMZL Capacity Planning Team provides Ops with solutions for in-station and on-the-road operations, year-round and during seasonal peaks. The ideal candidate is passionate about using data to deliver an actionable plan that impacts the business. They have a strong record of delivering results and are experienced in executing in a cross-functional environment, backed by analysis and data. They enjoy a fast-paced environment, working with large amounts of data, and solving highly complex, ambiguous problems.

As a Planning Analyst in the Capacity Planning Team, you will be working on the weekly and daily cadence for the generation of route plans or labor plans for AMZL delivery stations to make sure the organization is well prepared for the future. You will analyze execution gaps to improve future plans. You will work across teams to ensure that decisions are made for the business as a whole. The impact of this position is tremendous, making decisions that will affect the entire country network of one of the largest companies in the world. Key responsibilities
  • Work with the Supply Chain team to turn volume inputs into route plans or labor plan outputs on a weekly and daily cadence. You will be responsible for the continuous improvement of this process and analyzing and reporting results to the business. Working with Finance, Ops, and others, you will ensure that your plan is precise, actionable, cost-optimal, and constantly improving.
Day in the life
  • You will: work with teams across Amazon to turn volume forecast inputs into an executable plan output.
  • Interact with stakeholders across the AMZL network to ensure Day of Delivery plan execution is optimal.
  • Support leadership with important data analytics to ensure prompt and precise decision-making.
About the team

Amazon Logistics (AMZL) is Amazon's "Last Mile" delivery service, responsible for delivering packages (and smiles) to homes and businesses across the planet. Within AMZL, the Planning team is responsible for planning critical business aspects of the operations such as geographical coverage, volume/capacity planning and weekly execution of the plans. We are focused on planning Amazon's last mile network to reach the best balance between capacity availability, productivity and accuracy.

  • Experience in a highly analytical, results-oriented environment with cross functional interactions
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel at an advanced level, including: pivot tables, macros, index/match, vlookup, VBA, data links, etc.
  • Speak, write, and read fluently in English, and have the ability to take direction in English
  • Experience in MS Access and SQL
