Summary of the role

The Business Analyst (BA) will play a critical role in the development and modernization of Digital Commerce Platforms at Wiley, working closely with product leadership and business stakeholders to gather and document detailed requirements. The BA will collaborate with architects, UX, and development teams to translate business needs into epics and stories in JIRA and Confluence, ensuring alignment with Wiley’s end-to-end vision. Additionally, the BA will analyze production issues, construct workflow diagrams, support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and assist in the transition to future-state architecture. This role requires a solid background in business analysis, experience with Agile development, and strong organizational and communication skills.

How you will make an impact

• Responsible for gathering requirements and document feature requirements in epics and stories in Confluence / JIRA.
• Learn the existing capabilities and business rules / logic within commerce platforms (wiley and other sites) to analyze production issues and understand the approach to modernization.
• Work closely with the colleagues in User Experience, Business and Development teams to deliver documented requirements.
• Construct workflow diagrams and supporting documents.
• Help the teams transition into our future state architecture through triaging and prioritizing issues during end to end testing, supporting users conduct UAT and provide post production support.
• Work with business analysts across other programs to help track and manage dependencies and ensure alignment of delivery
• Act as an expert tester and reference for business testers during user acceptance procedures for newly developed features.

Technical education

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in business analysis, Information Technology, systems integration and / or quality assurance.
• Work in the position of business analyst in last one year.
• Basic knowledge of software development lifecycle and processes (experience in Agile development approach).
• Broad experience in MS Office, Jira, and Confluence.
• Experience in creation of technical specifications, business requirements and other documentation required in software development.
• Organizing requirements into Epics, stories.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with business stakeholders and development teams.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and with others.
