Job summary

Halliburton in Macaé, Brazil seeks an experienced Senior MWD/LWD operations professional to support onshore/offshore drilling projects. You will perform data acquisition, tool testing and QC, and collaborate with the Directional Driller to meet client specifications.

The role requires advanced English, a STEM degree, and 5+ years in MWD/LWD/MLDW operations, with a focus on quality, safety, and service excellence for Halliburton's customers.

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM fields (electronics, petroleum, chemical, mechanics eng., science, math, technology) or similar preferred.
• +5 years verifiable experience in onshore or offshore MLDW operations.
• Experience in tool preparations, data acquisition, log generation and QC.
• Proficiency in MWD and LWD technologies.
• Leadership, teamwork and strong client communication.
• Advanced English proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Assists in completing required forms, databases and reports.
• Assists in providing technical consultation to clients on mud hydraulics, BHA planning, formation evaluation and drilling tendencies.
• Ensures data presented to customer is accurate, timely and high quality.
• Provides data and identifies potential problems to customer.
• Tests tools and equipment before, during and after each job.
• Identifies and corrects operational problems to minimize service impact.
• Ensures BHA assemblies; proper make-up torque, doping and handling.
• Aware of customer requirements regarding directional survey procedures.
• Interfaces with Directional Driller to ensure BHA compatibility and correct tool references.

Job Duties

• Assists in accurately completing all required forms, databases and reports;
• Assists in providing technical consultation to all of Halliburton's clients. This includes mud hydraulics, Bottom Hole Assembly (BHA) planning, formation evaluation, drilling tendencies, the mud system and BHA dynamic;
• Assists in ensuring that all data presented to the customer is accurate, timely and meets the highest service quality standard possible;
• Assists in ensuring that expected and needed data and possible problems are provided to the customer;
• Properly tests all tools and equipment before, during and after each job;
• Identifies and corrects operational problems to prevent or minimize service impact;
• Ensures BHA's are assembled as planned, including correct make-up torque, doping and handling;
• Aware of customer requirements regarding directional survey procedures;
• Assists in interfacing with the Directional Driller (DD) to ensure BHA compatibility, planned operating parameters are within specification and correct tool face references are applied.

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM careers – Electronics, Petroleum, Chemical, Mechanics Eng., Science, Math, Technology or similar;
• +5 years of verifiable experience in onshore or offshore MLDW operations;
• Experience in tool preparations, data acquisition, log generation and Quality Control (QC) and delivery of the services to the customer;
• Proficiency in Measurement While Drilling (MWD) and Logging While Drilling (LWD) technologies;
• Leadership skills, teamwork and good communication with clients and teammates;
• Advanced English proficient.
