BairesDev is seeking a Backend Engineer specializing in PHP to design, build, and maintain high-performance web applications and APIs. You will modernize legacy systems and implement scalable solutions using PHP 7.4+/8+ with Laravel or Symfony.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensure code quality through testing and reviews, and optimize database schemas using MySQL, MariaDB or PostgreSQL in a fully remote, globally distributed environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of Backend Engineering experience with PHP.
• Proficient in PHP 7.4+/8+ and MVC frameworks (Laravel or Symfony).
• Strong REST API design and implementation experience.
• Solid SQL database knowledge (MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL).
• Experience modernizing and refactoring legacy codebases.
