We are looking for an Application Developer with strong experience in Java and MySQL to support and enhance our client's application system, on the transportation product line. The ideal candidate will be highly adept at working in a vibrant, dynamic startup environment with a small team, have proven on-time delivery experience, strong problem-solving abilities as well as aptitude to learn new technologies and concepts quickly, and be trustworthy, team-oriented, and transparent.

Our industry-leading client provides cloud-based business automation software for over 2000 independent upstream and midstream oil & gas companies in North America. The companys solutions manage land, production, accounting, and transportation for E&P operators, crude oil purchasers, transporters, haulers, investors, and accounting firms. Their customers benefit through the automation of the most complex business processes to reduce operating costs, save time, and increase profitability via reporting, analytics, and decision support systems that were once exclusive to the major integrated oil companies.

Responsibilities

• Portal & Server Management : Troubleshoot portal server errors, monitor AWS logs, and ensure report delivery.
• ETL & Data Operations : Manage ETL file uploads, monitor ongoing / completed loads, and resolve missing data issues.
• Reporting (JasperReports) : Maintain and enhance custom reports, add / remove columns and filters, manage run tickets, and troubleshoot disappearing reports.
• Database Management (MySQL) : Perform schema updates, optimize queries, and ensure data integrity for reporting and ETL processes.
• Integrations : Support Samsara, Geotab, and Motive integrations and data imports.
• Environment Management : Handle migrations between Alpha, Beta, and Production environments.
• Bulk Updates : Execute mass-scale changes (Tank ID, Lease Name, Account, Terminal details) and perform data cleanup.

Required Experience

• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
• 3+ years of experience using Java and MySQL
• Solid understanding of AWS logs and backend troubleshooting, preferably using Cloud watch
• Comfortable working in CI / CD environments with Agile development practices
• Understanding of ETL & Data Management for file uploads and load monitoring
• Detail-oriented and highly organized with a proactive mindset
• Able to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Trustworthy, team-oriented, and transparent

Preferred Experience

• Experience with JasperReports
• Prior experience using React.js
