Qualifications

• 2–5+ years of professional software development experience using Python and/or TypeScript/Node.js.
• Proven hands-on experience building and shipping Agentic AI systems into production.
• Experience with LangGraph, CrewAI, MCP, tool calling, and multi-step agent orchestration.
• Proven production experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
• Strong understanding of document ingestion, chunking strategies, embeddings, retrieval, and vector databases.

Job description

Are you looking to work for an innovative and exciting U.S.-based AI company, 100% remotely? We are looking for a highly skilled and proactive AI Engineer (Agentic AI & RAG) to join a fast-growing AI automation company serving home-service contractors across the United States. We are seeking a strong mid-level engineer with hands-on experience building and shipping production AI systems.

You will work directly with the Founder to design, develop, and deploy AI agents, multi-step workflows, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems that solve real business problems. This is a full-time, fully remote position for candidates based in Latin America. Availability U.S. Eastern Time. ALL RESUMES MUST BE SUBMITTED IN ENGLISH.

The salary range is $5,500–$6,500 USD per month , depending on experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy production-ready AI agents and multi-step workflows.
• Develop agentic systems using frameworks and technologies such as LangGraph, CrewAI, MCP, tool calling, and function calling.
• Build and optimize RAG pipelines, including document ingestion, chunking, embeddings, vector databases, and retrieval.
• Evaluate and improve retrieval quality and overall AI system performance.
• Identify and solve production issues such as poor retrieval, runaway tool loops, latency, and unexpected cost spikes.
• Work directly with the Founder to translate business requirements into scalable AI solutions.
• Maintain secure development practices, including proper secrets handling, access control, and data minimization.
• Work directly within the client's repositories, infrastructure, and technology stack.
• Take ownership of AI systems from development through production deployment and ongoing optimization.

Requirements

• Fluent English — YOU MUST BE ABLE TO HAVE A FLUENT PROFESSIONAL CONVERSATION IN ENGLISH.
• 2–5+ years of professional software development experience using Python and/or TypeScript/Node.js.
• Proven hands-on experience building and shipping Agentic AI systems into production, not only personal projects, courses, or tutorials.
• Experience with technologies such as LangGraph, CrewAI, MCP, tool/function calling, and multi-step agent orchestration.
• Proven production experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
• Strong understanding of document ingestion, chunking strategies, embeddings, retrieval, and vector databases such as Pinecone, Weaviate, Chroma, or pgvector.
• Experience evaluating and improving retrieval quality and AI system performance.
• Ability to troubleshoot real-world production AI failure modes.
• Strong software engineering and secure development practices.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership, and collaborate directly with company leadership.

Nice to Have

• Experience building Voice AI solutions.
• Experience with Twilio and/or ElevenLabs.
• Experience integrating AI agents with external APIs, CRMs, business systems, or automation platforms.
• Experience working in a startup or fast-moving AI environment.

Important: Candidates should have real production AI projects they can discuss in detail, including AI agents and RAG systems they personally helped design, build, and deploy.
