This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Agentic AI / Python Engineer based in Brazil.

Join a remote engineering team developing intelligent applications powered by Python, Generative AI, and autonomous AI agents. In this contract role, you will design and build scalable backend services while creating agentic workflows that can reason, interact with tools, and execute complex tasks. You will integrate Large Language Models (LLMs) into applications and business processes to deliver practical, AI-driven solutions. Your work will include multi-agent orchestration, API integrations, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) where appropriate. Collaborating with technical teams, you will help bring AI applications from development through testing, deployment, and optimization. This opportunity is ideal for an engineer who combines strong Python development skills with hands-on experience building reliable, production-ready AI systems.

Accountabilities

As an Agentic AI / Python Engineer, you will develop intelligent software solutions that combine Python-based backend engineering with LLM integration and autonomous agent capabilities.

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Python applications and backend services.
• Build Agentic AI solutions involving autonomous agents, intelligent workflows, and multi-agent systems.
• Integrate Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI capabilities into applications and business processes.
• Develop AI agent workflows using tool calling, function calling, and external API integrations.
• Design, implement, and maintain RESTful APIs and Python-based backend services.
• Explore and implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions to enhance AI application capabilities where appropriate.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to design, build, and continuously improve AI-powered applications.
• Support the integration, testing, deployment, monitoring, and optimization of AI solutions.
• Apply software engineering best practices to ensure applications are reliable, maintainable, scalable, and suitable for production environments.
• Contribute to troubleshooting and improving the performance and quality of AI-driven systems.

Requirements

The ideal candidate has strong Python development expertise and practical experience building AI-powered applications, particularly those involving autonomous agents and LLM-based workflows.

• Strong hands-on experience in Python programming and software development.
• Practical experience developing Agentic AI applications, AI agents, or autonomous AI workflows.
• Experience integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI capabilities into software applications.
• Understanding of AI agent orchestration, multi-agent systems, and tool or function calling.
• Experience designing, developing, and integrating APIs and Python-based backend services.
• Ability to build scalable, maintainable, and reliable software solutions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams.

Preferred Technical Skills

• Experience with Agentic AI frameworks such as LangGraph, LangChain, CrewAI, or AutoGen.
• Familiarity with FastAPI, Flask, and RESTful API development.
• Knowledge of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), embeddings, vector databases, and semantic search.
• Experience with LLM platforms and services such as OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, or Google Vertex AI.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud deployment environments.
• Experience building, deploying, or maintaining AI applications in production.
• Understanding of LLM evaluation, prompt engineering, and AI application testing.
