What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
  • Provide administrative support for team meetings and mentor newly hired administrative specialists
  • Maintain office equipment and assist with procurement and receiving shipments
  • Support fiscal auditing and human resources functions, including onboarding and offboarding
  • Facilitate contracts with internal and external contractors and provide communication support
  • Act as the safety coordinator for the Southern Piedmont AREC
What is Required (Qualifications)
  • Associate's degree in administrative or business management, accounting, or a related field; or equivalent education and work experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, OneDrive, and Teams
  • Willingness to learn Virginia Tech proprietary software/databases within six months of the start date
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to maintain accurate records
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills in English
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, business management, accounting, or a related field
  • Demonstrated skills in financial data management, administrative office management, or accounting
  • Training or experience in image/video editing software
