Job summary

Ernst & Young in Bahrain is seeking a Senior Manager to lead complex external audit engagements in the Wealth & Asset Management sector and to support growth of the Audit business.

You will define audit strategy with Partners, execute in accordance with EY policies, and lead teams. The role includes coaching junior staff, managing engagement staffing and fees, and contributing to business development efforts.

Qualifications

• Strong academic background including a degree and professional accounting qualification (ACCA/CA/CPA).
• Experience in the Wealth & Asset Management external audit sector is required.
• 10 years of professional experience in external audit, including leading teams and engagements.

Responsibilities

• Define audit strategy with the Partner and execute in line with EY policies.
• Lead delivery of audit engagements and manage teams or parts of engagements.
• Oversee staffing, billing, and issue escalation to project leaders; participate in business development.

Job description

EY is looking for a Senior Manager with Wealth & Asset management sector expertise to join the Bahrain Audit team to lead on complex audit engagements and support growth of the Audit business.

Your Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Manager you'll manage the delivery of audit engagements by defining the audit strategy in consultation with the Partner and executing it in compliance with Ernst & Young's policies and protocols. When required, you'll personally execute complex audit procedures and lead teams or parts of teams on engagements, depending on the size of the engagement. You ll also assist in managing the financial aspects of engagements by organizing staffing, tracking fees and communicating issues to project leaders as well as participate in business development initiatives.

You'll actively establish, maintain and strengthen internal and external relationships and confirm that work delivered to clients is of a high quality. As part of this, you'll anticipate and identify risks and elevate issues, as appropriate. As an influential member of the team, you'll help to create a positive learning culture and will coach and counsel junior team members and help them to develop through effectively supervising, coaching and mentoring. You will also contribute to people initiatives including recruiting, retaining and training Assurance professionals and contribute to the maintenance of an educational program to continually develop personal skills of staff.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications & Experience

• Strong academic record, including a degree and accounting qualification, such as ACCA, CA or CPA
• Should have external Audit experience in Wealth & Asset Management sector (Mandatory requirement).
• 10 years of professional experience in external audit
• Thorough knowledge of current auditing techniques and experience managing teams
• Experience with a Big 4 accounting firm
• Experience of risk-based audit process
• Understanding of currently applicable and upcoming IFRS
• Knowledge of use of audit tools and data analytic tools
• Coaching, mentoring and counselling experience
