Job Purpose

To lead and execute Multi-vendor Analyzer Contracts (MAC) by providing strong technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance of complex analyzer systems in oil & gas and refinery plants. This role requires deep‑on experience in working with different analyzer brands and solving critical technical issues under real plant conditions. The engineer is responsible for providing high quality services, ensuring high reliability and performance of important analyzer systems, services supplied to customers.

The role also supports building strong customer relationships through quality service and long-term contracts. In addition, the engineer should identify opportunities for upgrades, system improvements, and digital solutions. Overall, the role delivers value through strong technical skills, analyzer reliability/Quality services, and customer satisfaction. Uses technical knowledge of products, product availability, sales territories, and individual customers to provide a key communications link to the customer.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
  • Execute MAC/AMC analyzer service contracts, including turnaround, shutdown, and project‑related activities.
  • Perform commissioning, start‑up, FAT/SAT, and advanced troubleshooting of analyzer systems at site and factory.
  • Monitor, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot process analyzers (GC, gas, liquid, and specialty analyzers).
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions to improve analyzer reliability and performance.
  • Review, recommend, and implement analyzer engineering design improvements and modifications.
  • Act as an expert in analyzer sample systems, including evaluation and upgrading of sample conditioning and recovery systems.
  • Conduct field surveys and recommend solutions for analyzer issues related to pressure, flow, contamination, and sampling.
  • Develop, review, and optimize preventive maintenance (PM) procedures and schedules.
  • Review and manage spare parts requirements, ensuring proper documentation and inventory optimization.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, service reports, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Provide on‑site and remote technical support for maintenance, commissioning, and emergency breakdown situations.
  • Coordinate with customers, OEMs, and Yokogawa affiliates for resolving complex technical issues.
  • Ensure compliance with customer schedules, quality plans, and safety standards.
  • Support Service Sales team by identifying opportunities for spares, upgrades, and service business expansion.
  • Contribute to business growth by supporting MAC expansion and converting competitor analyzer systems.
  • Conduct technical training programs for customers and internal teams to enhance competency.
  • Develop and implement training programs covering analyzer fundamentals, sample systems, and hands‑on maintenance.
  • Utilize analyzer software, workstations, and diagnostic tools effectively for system monitoring and analysis.
  • Act as a key technical interface between customer, service team, and management.
  • Perform any additional responsibilities assigned by the Department Manager – Technical Support.
Qualification And Experience

1. Candidates should be B.E. or B.Tech. degree qualified, specialized in Electronics/Instrumentation/Chemical Engineering.

2. Minimum 9 to 12 years of experience in analyzer related work such as design, engineering and maintenance procedures, calibration, troubleshooting, testing and commissioning and training on a diverse range of analyzers and Process Gas Chromatographs in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical industry.

Required Competencies / Skills

1. Customer handling & managing site activities. Must be fully conversant with the process applications and able to design appropriate sampling systems.

2. Good knowledge in basic chemistry and refinery and petrochemical processes.

3. Able to understand and troubleshoot analyzers sample conditioning systems.

4. Trouble‑shoot and resolve complex problems. Have sufficient experience in handling different models of analyzers.
