Job summary

Vanderlande Industries GmbH in Manama, Bahrain, is seeking an experienced Electromechanical Technician to perform on-site maintenance of the baggage handling system (BHS). You will carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical and mechanical components to ensure reliable operations across the facility.

The candidate should have about 10 years of electromechanical experience, with a minimum of 4 years in BHS environments, and be able to read EM schematics.

Qualifications

• Middle level vocational/technical education.
• Electromechanical (EM) specialist.
• Able to read and understand EM schematics and/or drawings.
• Total 10 years of experience as electromechanical technician.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in BHS electromechanical technician.
• Preferred experience in BHS baggage handling system.
• Ability to work under stressful situations and pressure.
• Communicate, read, and write English (mid to high level).
• Flexibility to take over or handover work to the next shift.
• Knowledge on BHS controls equipment.

Responsibilities

• Preventive and corrective maintenance of electro-mechanical and other BHS equipment.
• Solve errors on electrical and mechanical equipment of the automated baggage handling system (BHS).
• Carry out electrical-mechanical corrective and preventive maintenance.
• Ensure preventive maintenance of the BHS is carried out properly and timely.
• Proactively solve errors or faults to avoid disruption.

• Responsible for solving errors for minor and major system components.

Scope

• Maintenance (electrical and mechanical) activities on site as scoped in the service contract.
• Maintain and monitor performance of minor and major equipment of the baggage handling system.

Qualification and abilities

• Middle level of vocational and/or technical education.

• Overall, 10 years of experience as electromechanical technician.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in s BHS electromechanical technician (preferred experience in similar working environment).
• Preferred experience in (BHS) baggage handling system.
• Ability to work under stressful situations and pressure.
• Communicate, read, and write the English language (mid to high level).
• Flexibility and capability to take-over or handover work to the next shift team.
• Controlling baggage flows and correcting flow disturbances.
• Quick and rapid response to reported errors or failures.
• Electromechanical fault-finding capability and restoration.
• Metrics and/or multi-meter signal measurement knowledge.
• Knowledge on BHS controls equipment.
