Job summary

Gulf Plastic Industries Co. in Bahrain seeks an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance operations in a plastic pipe and fittings manufacturing facility.

The role focuses on maximizing equipment reliability, reducing unplanned downtime, and ensuring safe, efficient production. You will manage mechanical, electrical, and maintenance teams, implement preventive and predictive maintenance, and coordinate with Production, QA/QC, and external contractors.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering.
8–10+ years of relevant maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
Proven experience in plastic pipe and/or plastic fittings manufacturing is highly preferred.
Strong experience with plastic extrusion lines and/or injection molding machines.
Experience with PVC, CPVC, HDPE, PPR, or related plastic processing machinery.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage all mechanical, electrical, and maintenance activities across the manufacturing facility.
Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
Ensure maximum availability, reliability, and efficiency of production equipment.
Lead troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance activities for plastic pipe extrusion and fittings production equipment.
Oversee the maintenance of: extrusion lines, injection molding machines, molds and dies, chillers and cooling systems, compressors and pumps, motors and gearboxes, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, auxiliary production equipment.
Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for major and recurring equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
Coordinate closely with Production, QA/QC, Warehouse, and other departments to minimize production interruptions.
Monitor key maintenance KPIs, including equipment availability, downtime, MTBF, MTTR, and preventive maintenance compliance.
Manage spare parts, tools, consumables, and critical maintenance inventory.
Lead, supervise, and develop the maintenance team and technicians.
Coordinate with external contractors, suppliers, and equipment manufacturers when required.
Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment history, schedules, and reports.
Support the installation, commissioning, modification, and upgrading of machinery.
Identify opportunities to improve equipment efficiency, reliability, and energy consumption.
Ensure compliance with company safety standards, quality requirements, ISO procedures, and maintenance policies.

About the Role

The role will focus on maximizing equipment reliability and availability, minimizing unplanned downtime, and ensuring safe, efficient, and continuous production operations.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage all mechanical, electrical, and maintenance activities across the manufacturing facility.
Develop and implement effective preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
Ensure maximum availability, reliability, and efficiency of production equipment.
Lead troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance activities for plastic pipe extrusion and fittings production equipment.

Qualifications & Experience

Strong experience with plastic extrusion lines and/or injection molding machines.
Experience working with PVC, CPVC, HDPE, PPR, or related plastic processing machinery.
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting capabilities.
Good knowledge of PLC, VFDs, sensors, control panels, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Experience with chillers, compressors, cooling systems, pumps, motors, and gearboxes.
Strong knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance planning.
Previous experience managing and supervising a maintenance team.
Knowledge of spare parts planning and maintenance cost control.
Strong understanding of breakdown analysis and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
