Job summary

Jing Hau in Manama, Bahrain is seeking a highly organized Librarian to join our team. The ideal candidate will manage the collection, assist patrons, and develop library programs. The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

You will collaborate with teachers to integrate resources into lessons, train volunteers, and promote literacy while staying current with digital catalogs and new materials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field.
• Experience in library or educational setting preferred.
• Strong knowledge of cataloging systems and library databases.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Biometric passport required for international travel ( accommodation provided ).

Responsibilities

• Manage the library collection by cataloging, shelving, and maintaining inventory.
• Assist patrons in locating materials and providing reference services.
• Develop and implement library programs and events.
• Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources into lesson plans.
• Maintain the library's physical space and ensure it is clean and inviting for patrons.
• Stay up-to-date on new books, materials, and technology relevant to the library's collection.
• Train and supervise library assistants or volunteers.
• Promote literacy and a love of reading through outreach initiatives.
