Job summary

Prestige Greeters in Dar Kulaib, Bahrain, seeks a diligent Librarian Assistant to support the librarian with managing resources, helping patrons with research, and promoting library events.

You will assist with organizing materials, circulation duties, basic computer help, and participating in programs for all ages. A high school diploma is required, and flexibility for evenings or weekends is a plus.

Salary offered is $1400 per month.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; library science degree preferred.
• Experience in a library or customer service preferred.
• Proficiency with computers and basic library software.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work evenings or weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist librarian in organising and maintaining library materials.
• Help patrons find materials and assist with research inquiries.
• Prepare and maintain displays and promotional materials for library events.
• Manage circulation desk duties: checkouts, fines, patron records.
• Shelving books and other materials in correct locations.
• Assist with cataloguing new materials using library software.
• Provide basic computer assistance to patrons.
• Plan and implement library programs for all ages.
• Perform routine maintenance such as cleaning shelves.
• Other duties as assigned by the librarian.
