Want More is hiring a Librarian Assistant in Manama to support the Librarian in daily operations and deliver excellent customer service to library patrons.

The role involves shelving, cataloging, reference help, account management, and assisting with programs and events for all ages, while maintaining a welcoming environment and assisting with technology use.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field preferred.
• Excellent communication skills in English (Arabic proficiency a plus).
• Strong organization skills and attention to detail.

Librarian Assistant

We are hiring a Librarian Assistant to join our team in Manama! As a Librarian Assistant, you will work closely with the Librarian to ensure the smooth operation of the library and provide excellent customer service to library patrons.

Responsibilities:
- Assist with organizing and maintaining library materials, including shelving books, cataloging new items, and processing returns
- Help patrons locate materials and provide basic reference services
- Assist with managing library accounts, including issuing library cards and collecting fines
- Perform general clerical tasks such as answering phone calls, responding to emails, and assisting with book reservations
- Assist with planning and implementing library programs and events for all ages
- Maintain a welcoming and organized environment for patrons by keeping shelves tidy and displays up-to-date
- Provide support for technology use in the library, including assisting patrons with computers and printers

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field preferred
- Excellent communication skills in English (Arabic proficiency is a plus)
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team
- Customer service experience preferred but not required

Salary: $1000 per month
Working Hours: Full time
