Job summary

Prestige Greeters in Dar Kulaib, Bahrain, seeks a diligent Librarian Assistant to support the librarian with managing resources, helping patrons with research, and promoting library events.

You will assist with organizing materials, circulation duties, basic computer help, and participating in programs for all ages. A high school diploma is required, and flexibility for evenings or weekends is a plus.

Salary offered is $1400 per month.

Librarian Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and organized individual to join our team as a Librarian Assistant in Dar Kulaib. As a Librarian Assistant, you will provide support to the librarian in managing and maintaining the library's resources, assisting patrons with research and reference inquiries, and promoting library events and programs.

Responsibilities

• Assist librarian in organising and maintaining library materials
• Help patrons find materials and assist with research inquiries
• Prepare and maintain displays and promotional materials for library events
• Manage circulation desk duties such as checking out materials, collecting fines, and updating patron records
• Shelving books and other materials in correct locations
• Assist with cataloguing new materials using library software system
• Provide basic computer assistance to patrons using library equipment
• Participate in planning and implementing library programs for all age groups
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning shelves, replacing light bulbs, etc.
• Other duties as assigned by the librarian

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Library Science preferred
• Previous experience working in a library or customer service role preferred
• Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proficiency with computers and basic knowledge of library software systems preferred
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Flexibility to work evenings or weekends if needed

Salary

This position offers a competitive salary of $1400 per month.
