Job summary

JobCenter in Al-Malikiyah, Bahrain is seeking a Contract Librarian to manage our library resources, assist patrons, and promote literacy within the community.

You will organize collections, support research, run events, and collaborate with schools to enhance curriculum. Visa sponsorship is available for international candidates. This role offers a stable contract and the chance to contribute to learning initiatives across the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field.
• Experience in a library setting preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Proficiency with library databases and cataloging systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage the library collection by organizing, cataloging, and maintaining books, journals, and other materials.
• Assist patrons with finding and accessing materials, answering reference questions, and providing research assistance.
• Promote literacy and learning through planning and coordinating events such as book clubs, author talks, and workshops.
• Develop and maintain relationships with local schools to support their curriculum needs.
• Collaborate with other departments within the organization to integrate library resources into their programs.
• Keep up-to-date with current trends in library science and implement new technologies or services as needed.
• Create displays or exhibits to showcase new or notable materials in the library.
