Vivid Resourcing is seeking a Transport Planning Lead for an initial 3–6 month on-site freelance engagement in Belgium. The role blends hands-on transport planning with fleet maintenance oversight and longer-term strategic input.

The position will start with ~80% operational focus and can evolve into a more managerial and strategic post as the company grows. You will drive efficiency, optimise schedules and utilisation, and help shape future planning and technology landscape, working closely

Qualifications

• Strong experience in transport planning and transport operations.
• Experience working with fleets, vehicles and maintenance.
• Understanding of transport efficiency, utilization and KPIs.
• Experience with a TMS or transport planning technology.
• Ability to analyze processes and identify improvements.
• Confidence working with operational teams and senior stakeholders.

Responsabilités

• Take a leading role in day-to-day transport planning and operational coordination.
• Support and optimise transport schedules, routes, capacity and vehicle utilisation.
• Work with planners, drivers and stakeholders to resolve issues and maintain service levels.
• Monitor transport performance, productivity and efficiency.
• Identify opportunities to reduce transport costs and improve planning processes.
• Act as a senior reference for the planning team.
• Take ownership of fleet-related operational activities.
• Coordinate vehicle availability, maintenance and servicing.
• Minimise downtime with internal and external partners.
• Ensure transport operations align with fleet capacity and availability.
• Contribute to the transport strategy and future decisions.
• Assist in implementing new planning processes and ways of working.
• Bridge day-to-day operations and long-term planning.
