Chemours in Kallo (Antwerp), Belgium, is seeking a Trade Compliance Specialist EMEA to join our team. You will partner with supply chain, finance and authorities to ensure customs compliance and smooth operations.

Reporting to the EMEA Trade Compliance Manager, you will oversee audits, valuation, classification, origin, and interaction with brokers, while driving continuous improvement and risk management across the region.

Qualifications

  • Degree or professional training in customs, international trade, compliance, business, economics or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in customs compliance, customs brokerage, freight forwarding, logistics or trade compliance.
  • Hands-on experience with customs audits, investigations and customs authority interactions.
  • Strong knowledge of EU Customs legislation and related regulations.

  • Provide expert guidance on customs compliance and international trade regulations.
  • Support customs valuation, tariff classification and origin determination activities.
  • Interpret regulatory changes and translate them into actionable business guidance.
  • Support customs audits, investigations and interactions with customs authorities.
  • Review customs declarations and compliance data to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Oversee external customs brokers and trade service providers.
  • Monitor supplier performance and compliance KPIs.
  • Drive process improvements and continuous compliance enhancement initiatives.
  • Partner with stakeholders across supply chain, operations, finance and business units.

Chemours is seeking a Trade Compliance Specialist EMEA to join our team in Kallo (Antwerp), Belgium.

About the role

Reporting to the EMEA Trade Compliance Manager, you will serve as one of Chemours' key customs and trade compliance experts in the region.

This is a highly visible role at the intersection of international trade, compliance, logistics and manufacturing. You will help ensure that Chemours remains compliant with customs and trade regulations while supporting efficient business operations across EMEA.

You will work closely with business leaders, supply chain teams, customs authorities and external customs brokers to strengthen compliance processes, manage risk and drive continuous improvement.

What you will do
  • Provide expert guidance on customs compliance and international trade regulations
  • Support customs valuation, tariff classification and origin determination activities

  • Support customs audits, investigations and interactions with customs authorities
  • Review customs declarations and compliance data to identify risks and opportunities

  • Support management of customs authorizations and special procedures
  • Drive process improvements and continuous compliance enhancement initiatives
  • Partner with stakeholders across supply chain, operations, finance and business units
What you bring
  • Degree or professional training in customs, international trade, compliance, business, economics or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in customs compliance, customs brokerage, freight forwarding, logistics or trade compliance
  • Hands-on experience with customs audits, investigations and customs authority interactions
  • Strong knowledge of EU Customs legislation
  • Experience with preferably SAP or other ERP systems
  • Experience with customs valuation, classification and origin determination
  • Ability to work independently and influence stakeholders
  • Professional fluency in English and Dutch
Preferred qualifications
  • Experience overseeing customs brokers or external trade providers
  • Exposure to export controls and sanctions
  • Experience with CBAM, F-Gas regulations or free trade agreements
  • Experience within chemical, industrial, manufacturing or other highly regulated environments
  • Knowledge of transfer pricing or dual-use goods
