Sphere Defense in Brussels, Belgium, is looking for a Test & QA Engineer to design and implement test, alignment and calibration procedures for aerospace-grade electromechanical components and assemblies.

You will realize robust companion software for the jigs and procedures, set repeatability and quality standards, and draft Manufacturing Control Plans with design teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical field.
• Extreme rigor, precision and attention to detail.
• Hands-on troubleshooting in electronics and mechanical domains.
• Experience designing and building test, alignment and calibration jigs.
• Experience writing procedures for EOL tests and outgoing inspection.
• Ability to draft and maintain process documentation.
• Proficiency with electronics and mechanical design for jigs.
• Fluent English; Dutch or French a plus.

Who we are

About you

You are a highly-motivated Test & QA Engineer who has exceptional hands-on capabilities and is an seasoned in building test, alignment and calibration procedures and jigs. You are also able to set the standard in terms of quality, and are driven by rigor and precision.

Location:

Onsite in Brussels, Belgium, with travel to Nivelles, Walloon Brabant. Our office in Brussels is close to Central Station.

What you’ll do

• Design and implement test, alignment and calibration procedures for aerospace-grade electromechanical components and assemblies

• Realize robust companion software for the jigs and the procedures

• Set the bar for repeatability and quality of components and products, establishing and enforcing AQLs

• Execute EOL Test and Outgoing Inspection activities for small batches and pilot productions

• Together with design teams and partners, draft and maintain Manufacturing Control Plans

• Travel to partner manufacturing facilities to train local production teams and help start-up production

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree, Technical High School diploma or equivalent

• Extreme rigor, precision and attention to detail

• Exceptional hands-on and troubleshooting capabilities in the electronics and mechanical domains

• Demonstrated experience in designing and building test, alignment and calibration procedures and jigs for complex electromechanical products

• Experience in writing procedures for and executing EOL tests and Outgoing Inspection

• Demonstrated ability to draft and maintain process documentation

• Proficiency with electronics and mechanical design for jigs

• Self-driven and proactive

• Excellent spoken and written English, Dutch or French is a plus

Preferential qualifications

• Experience working in AS9100 QMS

• Experience working in aerospace, medical, automotive or other regulated industry

• Experience working in a fast-paced, engineering-driven environment
