AYES Belgium is seeking a committed Engineer to operate and advance advanced test rigs for evaluating mechanical and mechatronic systems. You will own test equipment, run campaigns, calibrate devices, and implement efficiency improvements while ensuring safety and compliance.

You will collaborate with test engineers and R&D stakeholders to optimise testing activities, develop automation sequences, and document procedures.

Responsabilités

• Operate and develop advanced test rigs used to evaluate performance, behaviour, and reliability of complex mechanical and mechatronic systems.
• Own assigned test equipment: daily operation, maintenance, upgrades, calibration, and efficiency improvements.
• Prepare, configure, and execute test campaigns per technical requirements and safety procedures.
• Analyze issues, identify root causes, implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Develop and improve automated test sequences with standard control, measurement, and data-acquisition platforms.
• Collaborate with test engineers, system engineers, operators, and R&D stakeholders to optimise testing activities.
• Support installation and integration of sensors, instrumentation, control systems, and test equipment.
• Develop tools, procedures, and documentation to standardise testing practices.
• Define and monitor KPIs to improve test quality, equipment availability, and efficiency.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of the testing environment.

What will your role be?

• Operate and develop advanced test rigs used to evaluate the performance, behaviour, and reliability of complex mechanical and mechatronic systems.
• Take ownership of assigned test equipment, including daily operation, routine maintenance, upgrades, calibration, and efficiency improvements.
• Prepare, configure, and execute test campaigns in accordance with technical requirements and safety procedures.
• Analyse operational issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Develop and improve automated test sequences using industry-standard control, measurement, and data-acquisition platforms.
• Work closely with test engineers, system engineers, operators, and other R&D stakeholders to optimise testing activities.
• Support the installation and integration of sensors, instrumentation, control systems, and test equipment.
• Develop tools, procedures, and technical documentation to standardise testing practices.
• Define and monitor relevant KPIs to improve test quality, equipment availability, and operational efficiency.
• Contribute proactively to the continuous improvement of the testing environment.

Who are we looking for?

• Degree in engineering, preferably in mechatronics, electromechanics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, automation, or a related discipline.
• Good understanding of mechatronic systems and engineering fundamentals.
• Basic knowledge of control systems, structural dynamics, vibration, acoustics, or high-voltage systems is an advantage.
• Experience or a strong interest in programming and test automation.
• Familiarity with sensors, instrumentation, data acquisition, and industrial test equipment is desirable.
• Previous experience in a testing, validation, laboratory, or R&D environment is an asset.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with knowledge of structured root-cause analysis methods.
• Proactive, organised, and improvement-oriented mindset.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Clear communication skills and a good command of English.
