BDO International Limited is seeking a Technology Risk Advisor to work on projects related to cyber security assessments, IT audits, and data privacy. This position offers a unique opportunity to first understand the client's IT environment and then help improve their security posture.

What will you be doing?

As a Technology Risk Advisor, you will be working together with more experienced colleagues on various technology risk-related projects such as Cyber security assessments, IT and Application audits, Technological implementations and Data Privacy. All our projects aim to help our clients be better protected against cybersecurity threats. In practice, this involves:

• Gaining an understanding of a client’s IT environment and risk landscape, assessing the maturity of their IT systems and processes and making recommendations to further improve.
• Identifying and assessing weaknesses in clients’ control environments, applications or processes through interviews and the inspection of systems and documents.
• Helping clients improve their security posture by implementing risk management and security tools, improving their risk governance and building security controls.
• Launching ethical social engineering attacks at clients as part of cyber security assignments.
• Performing certification processes which involve assessing evidence and providing value‑adding reports such as SOC2 or ISO27001 certificates.

What do you bring to the table?

• You will graduate with a Master’s degree in Commercial Engineering, Applied Economics, Applied Computer Science, Commercial Science, Risk Management, or similar fields.
• You have a healthy interest in everything to do with Technology ranging from cyber security to the impact of AI and emerging opportunities and risks related to Technology.
• If you were to describe yourself, one of the first terms to come to mind would be “flexible”. Juggling multiple deadlines or dealing with several different files on the same day? A piece of cake for you.
• You are happy to take the initiative and present new ideas, but also receptive to your colleagues’ point of view and considerate of feedback. You make sure to keep them informed of a project’s progress; team spirit is the way to go for you.
• Your work is analytical and meticulous. You are capable of objectively and critically assessing your own and others’ work.
• You are fluent in both Dutch and English; French is an additional asset.
