OMP Belgium is seeking a Senior Python Software Engineer to design and build AI-powered solutions from experimentation to production-ready systems.

You will prototype AI features and develop production-grade Python services that integrate Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI agents, APIs, and enterprise data sources, turning successful prototypes into scalable, secure software.

As a Senior Python Software Engineer, you design and build AI-powered solutions, from early experimentation to production-ready implementation. You combine rapid learning and pragmatic delivery with solid engineering practices to quickly turn ideas into working prototypes, validate their value, and evolve the strongest concepts into robust software. At the same time, you help to accelerate AI adoption across our organization and use practical guidance, reusable approaches, and hands-on collaboration to enable OMP development teams to adopt AI-assisted development approaches confidently and responsibly.

You are responsible for:

• Prototyping AI-powered features and developer tools to validate user needs, technical feasibility, and business value.
• Developing production-grade Python applications and services that integrate Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI agents, APIs, and enterprise data sources.
• Turning successful prototypes into secure, scalable, maintainable, observable, and well-tested solutions.
• Introducing AI-assisted development practices, reusable workflows, and practical guidance that improve developer productivity and software quality.
• Coaching and collaborating with developers through demonstrations, pairing, knowledge sharing, and hands-on experimentation.
• Evaluating emerging AI technologies pragmatically, identifying risks early, and contributing to sound technical design and engineering standards.
