Talencia is seeking a DevOps NGINX Engineer for one of its clients in Brussels. The consultant will manage NGINX/NGINX+ as reverse proxy and load balancer, and participate in security and networking tasks.

Responsibilities include building and maintaining YAML CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps, collaborating with stakeholders, and ensuring robust, scalable web infrastructure. On-site presence in Brussels is required at least monthly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in Networking and Security environments.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Team-oriented and proactive mindset.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• English is mandatory (written and spoken).
• French and/or Dutch is a plus.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies.

Responsabilités

• Design, implement and manage NGINX/NGINX+ as reverse proxy and load balancer.
• Maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps with YAML-based configurations.
• Collaborate across teams to deliver secure, scalable web infrastructure.
• Ensure compliance with security best practices (HTTP/S, TLS, DNS) and automate repetitive tasks.
• Provide on-site readiness; presence in Brussels at least once per month.

Technical requirements

• Operating systems & Security:
  • Strong experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
  • Excellent knowledge of SELinux administration and troubleshooting
  • Experience with system hardening, patching, and performance tuning
• Automation & configuration management:
  • Strong expertise in Ansible
  • Ability to develop and maintain playbooks, roles, and inventories
  • Infrastructure automation and configuration management experience
• Web & Network services:
  • Expertise with NGINX / NGINX+ as Reverse Proxy and Load Balancer
  • Experience with F5 Approtect Web Application Firewall
  • Experience with Opswat MetaDefender AV/AM solutions
  • Solid understanding of HTTP/HTTPS protocols and web security concepts
  • Good knowledge of TCP/IP, TLS, and DNS
• DevOps & CI/CD:
  • Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps
  • Experience designing and implementing YAML-based CI/CD pipelines
  • Knowledge of Azure Repos, Artifacts, and deployment pipelines
  • Version Control:
    • Advanced GIT knowledge:
      • Branching strategies
      • Rebasing and conflict resolution
      • Tagging and cherry-picking
      • Pull request workflows
  • Scripting & programming:
    • Strong Bash scripting skills
    • Working knowledge of Python
    • Knowledge of Java is considered an asset

  Aanbod

  The consultant is expected to be present on-site in Brussels at least once per month. Additional on-site presence may be required depending on project needs.
