Thales is seeking a seasoned network/solutions engineer in Belgium to design and formalize network architectures aligned with security policies. You will support IVVQ teams, draft certification docs, and lead technical topics with a pragmatic, proactive approach.

The role requires strong IT systems knowledge, experience in defense projects or critical infrastructures, and fluency in English. French/Dutch are a plus. Opportunities for growth across Thales Group await.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in infrastructure and network design.

• Hands-on with TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs and related tools.
• Experience using Polarion for requirements management.
• Proficiency with Capella or Enterprise Architect modelling tools.
• Software development background is a plus.
• Crypto systems knowledge is advantageous.
• Interest in quantum technologies and AI is a plus.
• Experience with Windows/Linux, Jenkins, Git, and JIRA.

Responsabilités

• Participate in defining and drafting network specifications.
• Formalize specifications for solution components and design deliverables.
• Contribute to upstream reference documentation (SSS, ICD, SSDD).
• Provide support to IVVQ teams and developers.
• Draft justification and certification documentation.
• Analyze technical facts or anomalies and propose solutions.
• Act as technical leader for assigned topics.
• Collaborate as a team member; remain pragmatic, organized, and proactive.

With an engineering background or an equivalent Master's degree (BAC+5), you have experience in systems engineering or a background as an IT engineer.

For this role, you should possess the following skills:

• Demonstrated experience in the design of infrastructure and network architectures
• Demonstrated experience in the design of network architectures in line with security standards and policies
• Experience in defense projects and/or critical infrastructures
• Good understanding and knowledge of IT systems, IP networks and serial protocols.
• In-depth knowledge of network protocols, such as TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS and VLAN.
• Experience using requirements management tools (e.g.: POLARION).
• Experience with modelling tools, such as Capella or Enterprise Architect.
• A background in software development would be a plus.
• Knowledge of crypto systems would be considered a plus.
• Knowledge of quantum technologies and AI would be considered a plus
• Experience in the following environments: Windows/Linux, Jenkins, GIT equivalent, and JIRA.
• Your interpersonal skills, rigor, and autonomy will enable you to successfully complete your missions.

Main Responsibilities

• Participate in defining and drafting network specifications.
• Formalize specifications for solution components, architectural design, and produce associated deliverables.
• Contribute to establishing and maintaining upstream reference documentation (SSS, ICD, and SSDD).
• Provide support to the IVVQ teams and the developers in place.
• Contribute to drafting justification and certification documentation.
• Contribute to the analysis of technical facts or encountered anomalies, propose solutions, and prioritize version scope.
• You will be the technical leader for the topics assigned to you.

• Good communication skills, both verbally and written. Fluency in English (≥ B2) is mandatory. Knowledge of French and/or Dutch is desirable;
