Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Senior Architect to lead the design of scalable microservices solutions on cloud platforms using Java Springboot and Angular. You will guide agile Scrum practices and modern DevOps automation to create resilient hybrid-model applications that enhance customer experience and align with business strategy.

You will architect enterprise-scale systems, drive cloud-native deployments on AWS, and promote secure coding, observability, and performance optimization across the stack.

Qualifications

• Twelve to fifteen years of progressive experience in application architecture with a focus on distributed systems and enterprise-scale platforms.
• Advanced hands-on expertise in Java core and Springboot frameworks including designing and implementing complex Springboot microservices in production.
• Experience building and operating microservices architectures including service discovery, fault tolerance, configuration management and API design.

Responsibilities

• Design and architect scalable microservices based applications that enable reliable business services and improve overall system resilience for enterprise customers.
• Define robust application and integration architecture using Java Springboot and core Java so that complex business workflows are implemented with high performance and maintainability.
• Architect front end solutions using Angular frameworks to deliver intuitive and accessible user experiences that support diverse customer journeys and digital channels.
• Plan and implement cloud native solutions on AWS that leverage managed services to achieve secure deployments optimized cost structures and high availability across environments.
• Guide DevOps practices on AWS by promoting infrastructure automation continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines that reduce deployment risk and cycle times.
• Collaborate with product owners and cross functional squads in a scrum environment to translate business requirements into technical designs that are clear feasible and value driven.
• Review solution designs and code for microservices and cloud components to ensure alignment with architectural standards security guidelines and long term scalability objectives.
• Create and maintain architecture blueprints reference implementations and design patterns that help engineering teams adopt consistent approaches across multiple product lines.
• Coordinate with hybrid work model teams across locations to ensure architecture decisions are communicated clearly risks are addressed early and delivery milestones are met on time.
• Optimize application performance and reliability by conducting detailed technical assessments capacity planning analyses and tuning across Java Springboot and database layers.
• Support incident and problem resolution by providing deep technical analysis of architecture and design issues and by recommending sustainable remediation strategies.
• Engage with stakeholders to explain architectural options and tradeoffs so that technology decisions are aligned with business priorities and regulatory considerations.
• Promote modern engineering practices such as test automation secure coding and observability for microservices based systems to enhance operational excellence and customer trust.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate between twelve and fifteen years of progressive experience in application architecture with a strong focus on distributed systems and enterprise scale platforms.
• Possess advanced hands on expertise in Java core Java and Springboot frameworks including designing and implementing complex Springboot microservices in production environments.
• Show practical experience in building and operating microservices architectures including service discovery fault tolerance configuration management and API design using industry standards.
• Have substantial exposure to AWS services such as compute storage networking and security features with a proven record of deploying and operating cloud native workloads.
• Bring solid knowledge of AWS DevOps tooling and practices including pipeline automation configuration management and environment standardization that supports frequent deployments.
• Exhibit strong proficiency in Angular for front end development with the ability to design modular components and responsive interfaces that integrate seamlessly with backend microservices.
• Apply agile delivery experience as a scrum master or equivalent role by facilitating ceremonies improving team collaboration and ensuring backlog items are refined and executable.
• Display excellent communication and documentation capabilities that enable clear articulation of architectural decisions risk assessments and technical guidelines to varied audiences.
