Redwire Space is seeking a Thermal Engineer to design and verify thermal systems for satellites and space hardware. You will work with systems engineers to ensure products meet thermal requirements, translate results into actionable design improvements, and lead thermal testing and reporting efforts.

The role emphasizes hands-on analysis, documentation, and collaboration across disciplines, with a focus on maintaining traceability and meeting schedules. Fluency in English is essential.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in engineering or physics related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in a thermal engineering role with a strong focus on thermal analysis.
• Experience with ESATAN TMS is strong plus.
• Basic understanding of orbits and their relation to the thermal environment seen by spacecrafts
• A thorough understanding of heat transfer phenomena and space thermal environment (radiation, convection, conduction) is required.
• A thorough understanding of active thermal control is required
• A good understanding of thermal resistances and contact conductances is required.
• Hands-on experience with thermal testing (TVAC) is an asset
• Knowledge on heat pipes and other advanced thermal control methods is an asset
• A good knowledge of Microsoft office, in particular Microsoft word and Excel
• Knowledge of a programming language (VBA, Python, MATLAB) is an asset
• Fluency in English (speaking and writing) is an absolute must.

Responsabilités

• Verify satellites and other space systems against launch and orbital cases via hand calculations and ESATAN TMS.
• Document thermal analyses and ensure traceability of models and results.
• Lead the preparation, execution, and reporting of thermal tests; correlate results with analysis models.
• Translate results into recommendations to improve mechanical design from a thermal point of view.
• Collaborate with systems engineers to ensure requirements are met and issues resolved in a timely manner.
