Job summary

We are looking for an experienced Solution Architect to design and deliver scalable, secure, and robust technology solutions within a large-scale programme focused on box tracking systems.

The role involves defining solution architectures, driving key technical decisions, and collaborating with product owners, enterprise architects, business stakeholders, and software engineering teams to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.

Qualifications

• Proven hands-on Solution Architect experience in large programmes.
• Strong knowledge of software solution architecture concepts and tools.
• Experience documenting architectures across application, data, integration, and security.
• Solid expertise in cloud architecture, especially AWS.
• Experience with microservices-oriented architectures and modern delivery practices.
• Familiarity with container and serverless environments (Kubernetes, AWS EKS, OpenShift).
• Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases and data modelling.
• Experience with data/integration platforms like Snowflake, Workato, Qlik.
• Good understanding of CI/CD, version control, and automated deployments.
• Strong communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Solid understanding of cybersecurity and privacy by design.

• Define and maintain solution architecture roadmaps, anticipating future business and technology needs.
• Lead complex technical decisions and support architectural solutions throughout their implementation.
• Develop and maintain architecture documentation, including architecture diagrams, system specifications, interfaces, data models, and data flows.
• Collaborate with product owners, enterprise architects, domain architects, technical leads, and software engineers to ensure consistent and effective solution delivery.
• Contribute to the evolution of monolithic applications towards microservices-oriented architectures.
• Apply architectural governance, security-by-design, privacy-by-design, and information governance principles.
• Establish and promote architectural standards, policies, and best practices.

Required Skills and Experience

• Proven experience as a hands-on Solution Architect within a large organisation and complex programme environment.


• Strong knowledge of software solution architecture concepts, practices, and tools.


• Experience designing and documenting architectures across application, data, integration, and security domains.


• Solid expertise in cloud architecture and cloud services, particularly AWS.


• Experience with microservices-oriented architectures and modern software development and delivery practices.


• Experience with container-based and/or serverless environments, including Kubernetes, AWS EKS, and/or OpenShift.


• Knowledge of relational and NoSQL database technologies and formal data modelling techniques.


• Experience with both request-driven and event-driven architectures.


• Familiarity with data and integration platforms such as Snowflake, Workato, and Qlik.


• Good understanding of CI/CD, version control, branching strategies, quality controls, secrets management, and automated deployments.


• Strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.


• Solid understanding of cybersecurity, information governance, and security and privacy by design.

Nice to Have

• Experience in the automotive industry or supply chain.


• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure cloud services.


• Experience with Bizzdesign.


• Expertise in architecture documentation and modelling techniques, including ArchiMate and UML.

Education

A Master's degree or equivalent professional experience.
