European Tech Recruit is seeking a Software Security Architect for embedded security, firmware, and secure systems. The role is based in Leuven, Belgium, with alternate locations in Graz and Glasgow, offering permanent employment and a global collaboration environment.

The candidate will design and review software security architectures, perform risk analyses, and serve as a technical interface to customers, labs, and development teams. Strong C/C++ embedded experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Security, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
• Strong embedded C/C++ development experience.
• Solid embedded security background.
• Knowledge of Smartcard/Secure Element products and CC EAL6+/EMVCo is advantageous.
• Excellent communication and strong team player.

Software Security Architect — Embedded Security / Firmware / Secure Systems

We are partnered with a global leader in the semiconductor industry. The team is looking to hire a Software Security Architect to design and review software security architectures across embedded software, operating systems, and firmware, while acting as a key technical interface for customers and evaluation labs.

This is a permanent opportunity based in Leuven, Belgium, with alternate locations available in Graz, Austria or Glasgow, UK.

Key responsibilities for this Software Security Architect position:

• Specify, design, and review software security architectures and implementations across embedded software, OS, and firmware.
• Conduct risk and threat analysis of security systems.
• Perform root cause analysis of security defects and develop countermeasures.
• Act as the technical interface to customers, evaluation labs, and product development teams.
• Create innovative and disruptive security solutions.

Key requirements:

• Master's or PhD in Security, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
• Strong embedded software development experience in C/C++.
• Solid embedded security background.
• Knowledge of Smartcard/Secure Element products, Embedded Secure Systems, and security evaluations (CC EAL6+, EMVCo) advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills and strong team player.
