Médiane Benelux is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Architect to review and modernize a complex embedded software architecture in a defense-sector project. You will focus on improving modularity, maintainability and scalability in a demanding technical environment.

You will lead architecture reviews, identify weaknesses, and define sustainable target architectures while coaching technical teams on best practices and standards.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent technical background.
• 10+ years of embedded software development and architecture experience.
• Strong C++ expertise.

Job Description

Our client, a company operating in the defense sector, is looking for a Senior Embedded Software Architect to support the review and modernization of a complex software architecture.

The objective is to improve the modularity, maintainability and scalability of embedded software products operating in a demanding technical environment.

Your responsibilities

• Review the existing embedded software architecture.
• Identify structural weaknesses, technical risks and improvement opportunities.
• Define a clear and sustainable target architecture.
• Support technical leads and developers in applying architectural principles.
• Promote software design standards and best practices.
• Participate in architecture and design reviews.
• Contribute to the modernization of large and complex legacy systems.

Profile / Requirements

• Engineering degree or equivalent technical background.
• At least 10 years of experience in embedded software development and architecture.
• Strong expertise in C++.
• Solid knowledge of Real-Time Linux environments.
• Good understanding of software design patterns and modular architecture.
• Experience with UML and/or SysML.
• Proven experience working with large-scale legacy software systems.
• Strong coaching, mentoring and technical leadership skills.
• Able to communicate complex architectural decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Mandatory requirements

• Fluent French.
• On-site presence at least four days per week.
