Job summary

Hitachi Rail Belgium is seeking a Signalling & Telecom Site Supervisor to lead on-site activities for the Brussels metro modernization project. You will ensure quality, safety, and alignment with project specifications while coordinating with customers, authorities and subcontractors.

The role requires 1–5 years of on-site experience, knowledge of signalling and power systems, and flexibility for travel and night work. A driving licence valid in Europe is also required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Ensure quality of works and compliance with design/specifications.
• Ensure construction activities align with project planning.
• Coordinate with customers, authorities, contractors and subcontractors on site handovers.
• Ensure site health and safety rules are followed on all works.
• Optimize resources (internal and external) per project budget and schedule.
• Develop site-specific plans with Construction Manager.
• Continuously improve processes and procedures on site.
• Support Construction Manager to ensure material availability per schedule.

About The Role

Accountabilities:

• Ensure the quality of the works (e.g. compliance of the works with the projects design and specifications)
• Ensure compliance of construction activities with the construction planning.
• Liaise with Customers /Authorities /Contractors/ Partner/ Subcontractors for site and/or materials takeover and/or handover
• Ensure the compliance on site of the rules foreseen by the HSE Management plan, for the works under his/her responsibility
• Ensure the optimization of the resources (internal and external/subcontractors) in the project on site, having as baseline the project budget and Planning
• Develop site specific plans to be implemented in projects program and budget in agreement with Construction manager
• Ensure the continuous updating and improvement of processes and procedures
• Support the Construction Manager to ensure the material is available on site in accordance to the Working Schedule agreed with Customer and Subcontractors

About The Profile

Required Skills/Knowledge:

• 1 - 5 years on site activities / site workforce management / site technical control and coordination
• Knowledge of Signalling, Power Supply and Traction Power Technology Systems
• Health, Safety and Environment
• Experience and fluency on technical drawing and reporting
• Working knowledge of Windows and Office Package
• Basic knowledge on AutoCAD, MS Project as a plus
• Driving license valid in Europe, availability to drive
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Open to discuss travel/long term assignment to national/foreign Construction Projects
• Agreed to work on night shifts on a regular basis
• Career Level Experienced (Non-Manager)

Education/Experience:

• Primary: High school Degree Electric/Mechanic/TLC, with certified 2/5 years work experience on Railways/metro site electromechanical/civil works

• Alternative: Engineering University degree or Equivalent Technical background (electric/mechanic/TLC) with 1-year work experience on Railways/metro site electromechanical/civil works
