Job summary

dsm-firmenich Belgium seeks an experienced SHE Manager to lead Safety, Health and Environment activities across the Louvain-la-Neuve and Mont Saint Guibert sites. You will drive a strong safety culture, engage employees on the shop floor and partner with site leadership to enable risk management and operational excellence.

You will define the local SHE roadmap, ensure regulatory compliance, and lead audits while collaborating with regional and global networks to share best practices and sustain

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Engineering, Safety, Chemistry, Environmental Sciences, or related field.
• OHS/SHE qualification; Safety Engineer certification is an advantage.
• 5+ years of operational leadership experience in pharma/chemical/food industries.
• Strategic mindset with hands-on approach and execution skills.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.
• Data-driven, analytical, and solution-oriented.
• Fluent in French and English; autonomous in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Build and strengthen SHE leadership, ownership and culture across the site.
• Develop and execute the site's SHE roadmap aligned with global strategies.
• Translate SHE strategy into site objectives, action plans and metrics.
• Implement and verify Life Saving Rules, driving compliance and behavioural change.
• Lead key SHE improvement projects and support capital investment decisions.
• Drive SHE performance via monitoring, KPIs and continuous improvement.
• Lead audits, assessments and inspections to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Chair the local Safety Council and ensure governance of SHE priorities.
• Promote proactive safety culture with open reporting and lessons learned.
