Job summary

Petersime NV in Belgium is seeking a Technical Buyer to manage the operational procurement of materials and components, with a strong focus on technical content, availability and continuity. You will work closely with production, planning and dispatch, translate MRP proposals into purchasing decisions and identify risks while continuously improving supplier performance and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Master’s or bachelor’s degree with experience in a technical or supply chain environment.
• 5–10 years in a technical purchasing role in manufacturing.
• Experience with MRP/ERP systems (SAP or Microsoft Dynamics).
• Strong technical understanding of drawings, specifications and manufacturing processes.
• Analytical, data-driven mindset; Dutch and English proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Manage, analyse and optimise procurement flows through the ERP system.
• Translate MRP proposals into purchasing decisions.
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks (dual sourcing, safety stock).
• Collaborate closely with production, planning and dispatch.
• Coordinate escalations in the event of delivery issues.
• Optimise inventory levels and parameters (lead times, MOQs, safety stocks).
