HCLTech is seeking a Sr. Sophis Platform Support Engineer in Brussels to provide L2/L3 production support for the Sophis platform, including incident triage, environment administration, and batch processing across Dev/UAT/Prod.

You will collaborate with trading desks, risk and operations teams to resolve pricing, valuation, and P&L issues while mentoring junior engineers and participating in DR testing and platform upgrades.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience supporting Sophis or similar platforms.
• Strong understanding of capital markets products (FX, Rates, Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives).
• Hands-on experience withSybase/Oracle SQL, Unix/Linux scripting (shell, Perl/Python).
• Familiarity with Sophis architecture: pricing engines, risk engines, market data, static data, workflow.
• Experience with job scheduling tools (Autosys, Control-M) and batch monitoring.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise with traders, risk managers, and technology teams.

Job Role - Sr. Sophis Platform Support Engineer

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

• Provide L2/L3 production support for the Sophis platform, including incident triage, root-cause analysis, and resolution within SLAs
• Administer and maintain Sophis application environments (Dev, UAT, Prod) — installs, upgrades, patches, and configuration changes
• Support end-of-day (EOD) and start-of-day (SOD) batch processes, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and reprocessing failed jobs
• Manage market data feeds, static data setup, and integration with upstream/downstream systems (trading, risk, settlement, accounting)
• Work closely with trading desks, risk, and operations teams to resolve functional issues (pricing, valuation, P&L breaks, risk calculations)
• Collaborate with vendor support for defect escalation and platform upgrades
• Support database (Sybase/Oracle) queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning related to Sophis
• Participate in disaster recovery (DR) testing and business continuity planning
• Document support procedures, runbooks, and knowledge base articles
• Mentor junior support engineers and contribute to process improvement initiatives
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours/weekend support
• Networking, storage, middleware, system monitoring, backup technologies — completely absent
• Infrastructure incident handling — memory, CPU, storage, connectivity, availability/system health
• Infrastructure lifecycle management — (hardware/software refresh cycles, EOL management
• Upgrades, Patching, Migrations and technology refreshes
• Change and configuration management

Required Skills & Experience

• 8+ years of experience supporting Sophis or similar trading/risk platforms (Murex, Summit)
• Strong understanding of capital markets products (FX, Rates, Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives)
• Hands-on experience with Sybase/Oracle SQL, Unix/Linux scripting (shell, Perl/Python)
• Familiarity with Sophis architecture: pricing engines, risk engines, market data, static data, workflow
• Experience with job scheduling tools (Autosys, Control-M) and batch monitoring
• Strong incident/problem management skills (ITIL knowledge a plus)
• Excellent communication skills to liaise with traders, risk managers, and technology teams

Nice to Have

• Sophis certification or vendor training
• Exposure to regulatory reporting, VaR, Greeks, or PnL attribution
• Experience with cloud migration or platform modernization projects
