Johnson & Johnson in Belgium seeks a (Senior) Scientist for Particulate & Colloidal systems to join the AMCI team within Synthetics Therapeutic Development & Supply. In this lab-based role you will study particle aspects of formulations across multiple modalities and delivery technologies.

The position is based in Beerse, Belgium, with emphasis on regulatory compliance, GMP, and cross-functional collaboration with API and DP groups.

Qualifications

• PhD in Chemical (Bioscience)-Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Physics, or equivalent by experience in a relevant area.
• Expertise in Particle characterization technologies such as Laser diffraction, advanced Dynamic light scattering, SAXS and microscopy.
• Profound Knowledge of colloidal systems including crystalline nanoparticles, liposome & lipid nanoparticles and stabilization methods.
• Understanding of particle properties relation to bulk behavior and final product quality.
• Practical experience with multivariate statistics (PCA/PLS) and basic machine learning.
• Proactive about digitization; able to apply basic ML and automate tasks; strong team interaction.

Responsabilités

• Design & conduct experiments to characterize particle properties in dry and wet systems.
• Collaborate across API and DP teams to enhance development and formulation strategies.
• Drive internal & external innovation in characterization approaches and workflows.
• Ensure regulatory, GMP, and safety compliance throughout projects.
