Description du poste
Who we are

For more than 70 years, NATO’s mission has been to preserve peace and security in the Alliance for nearly one billion citizens. The NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCI Agency) and its predecessors have worked tirelessly in providing the means that enable the connectedness and togetherness that keep our Alliance strong. We are the NCI Agency, a team of 3000 civilian and military staff in 29 locations throughout Europe, North America and Asia.

Our technology and cyber experts allow NATO to conduct critical operations, protect NATO’s airspace, make data-driven decisions, defend against cyber-attacks, secure NATO networks and maintain superiority in space. This is all possible because of our greatest force, our people. In order to keep this edge we aim to hire, train and retain the very best staff.

Our staff members represent both the diversity and unity of our Alliance. When you join the NCI Agency, you will be part of an organization where you can contribute authentically to the mission and purpose of NATO and help us keep our technological edge.

About the job

We are seeking experienced Project Managers at G15 and G17 level to join the NCIA in Belgium, where the organisation has multiple sites.

These roles operate within complex organisational and governance environments and involve the delivery of projects that support NATO capabilities across digital, operational and business domains. Successful candidates will be expected to demonstrate practical, hands‑on experience in delivering projects within defined scope, cost, schedule and assurance frameworks.

Depending on grade and assignment, responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the full delivery lifecycle of one or more projects from initiation through to formal closure using recognised project management methods and tools.
  • Developing and maintaining integrated project plans covering scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk and communications.
  • Managing stakeholder engagement, expectations and decision‑making across internal and external parties.
  • Identifying, assessing and managing risks and authorised changes, including impact analysis and mitigation.
  • Monitoring supplier and contractual performance in coordination with assigned contract officers.
  • Producing accurate project status, cost and performance reports in line with governance and assurance requirements.
  • Capturing lessons learned and contributing to continuous improvement of project management practices.

At G17 level, candidates are expected to demonstrate greater autonomy, accountability and experience managing more complex delivery environments.

At G15 level, candidates may deliver projects of lower to moderate complexity or operate under direction while building towards greater ownership.

This recruitment is being conducted as a grouped campaign to establish a pool of Project Management professionals for deployment across multiple NCIA organisational elements. Candidates found suitable may be considered for current and future vacancies based on organisational needs.

About you

You are a delivery‑focused project management professional with demonstrable experience operating in structured organisational environments. You are comfortable being accountable for outcomes and can evidence real delivery responsibility rather than theoretical knowledge.

You will typically bring:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree from a nationally recognised university with relevant post‑related experience, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering projects within a large organisation, ideally in an international, governmental or multinational context.
  • Practical experience managing scope, schedule, cost, resources, risks and stakeholders.
  • Experience working with cross‑functional and geographically dispersed teams.
  • A recognised project management qualification such as PRINCE2 or PMI‑PMP.

Candidates without a recognised project management qualification may be considered at G15 level.

Consideration at G17 level normally requires a recognised certification.

What we offer
  • Meaningful work supporting NATO missions and operational effectiveness.
  • A five-year contract with a competitive, tax‑free salary aligned to grade.
  • Expatriation and education allowances where applicable, plus home leave.
  • Comprehensive private health insurance.
  • 30 days of annual leave plus official holidays.
  • NATO Defined Contribution Pension Scheme.
  • Access to professional development and training.

The tax‑free monthly salary for a G15 in Belgium is 6,713.06 Euros.

The tax‑free monthly salary for a G17 in Belgium is 8,273.12 Euros.

Additional information

This recruitment is being conducted as part of a grouped campaign to fill multiple G15‑G17 Project Management positions across the NCIA. Candidates found suitable may be placed on a reserve list, which can be used to fill current vacancies, as well as anticipated requirements in 2026 and beyond.

This post is linked to, and is the same profile and requirements as another grouped Project Management campaign located in The Hague, Netherlands (252010). Your application will only be progressed in one location, to save duplication of efforts. Please apply to any locations you are interested in.

The NCIA has other locations across Europe, and North America — and selected candidates may be considered for related opportunities depending on organisational needs.

This is an opportunity to join a large, strategic hiring campaign and contribute to critical NATO programmes that underpin the Alliance’s operational effectiveness.

If you are already a staff member within the NATO community seeking a new opportunity at the NCIA, it is strongly advised that you do not wait to see an advert from a particular Organisational Element, as recruitment for all P3M talent will be derived from grouped campaigns.
