Job summary

AMOS, Liège, is seeking a Senior Opto-Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, manufacturing follow-up and AIV of the VHR optical payload.

You will supervise the opto-mechanical team, work with the Optical Payload Architect, ensure launch-load, thermal, and alignment requirements, and draft technical documentation.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in opto-mechanical or precision mechanical design.
• Experience in the space field is required.
• Knowledge of wavefront error and line-of-sight drift implications.
• Familiar with ECSS standards.

Responsibilities

• Understand and analyse opto-mechanical requirements and ensure they are met along the design.
• Design opto-mechanical assemblies and select materials and components.
• Justify designs against launch loads and thermal gradients; support STOP analyses.
• Define alignment concepts and specify integration tooling and metrology.
• Draft specifications and supervise subcontractors; follow up manufacturing.
• Take charge of integration, alignment and validation of the opto-mechanical payload.
