Job summary

Kuehne+Nagel is seeking a Senior Contract Logistic Solution Engineer in Belgium to lead logistic solution projects from analysis to implementation. You will manage complex warehouse designs and optimize processes across inbound and outbound flows, applying automation and IT solutions.

The role requires five years in warehouse engineering, strong Excel and cost modelling skills, and fluency in Dutch and English, with willingness to travel across the Benelux region for projects and customer

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in logistics or equivalent.
• At least five years in warehouse solution engineering.
• Experience with automated warehouse solutions or logistics IT solutions.
• Basic AutoCAD experience is an advantage.
• Ability to lead large projects and coordinate teams.
• Strong cost calculations and Excel skills.
• Fluent Dutch and English; French is a plus; travel in Benelux.

We are looking for a Senior Contract Logistic Solution Engineer to join our Contract Logistics Business Unit. You will take the lead in logistic solution projects from analyzing the challenges presented by our (internal and external) customers, over the development of solutions, through the full implementation of the agreed solutions. You will be part of our solid developing Solution Engineering Team.

How you create impact

• Leading a work-stream in a complex warehouse design projects. Analysing and investigating contained logistic processes and full option supply chains, both of existing and new customers, based on the available data and your knowledge of warehouse solutions through relevant experience.
• (Re-)design logistic solutions and improvements concerning contained logistics processes and full option supply chains (inbound & outbound processes, warehouse process automation, semi-production processes, warehouse lay‑outs, ... ).
• Optimizing existing processes by acting as a logistics expert in continious improvement projects ran by operational teams.
• Lead an implementation or site optimization to success. Preparation of a full fletched implementation and project plans. Follow-up of all steps of the implementation to ensure realasation as scheduled within the budget.
• Problemsolving and solution coordination on all issues which appear during design or implementation phase.
• Use of global calculation tool (GCT) and supporting tools for warehouse calculations to create logistics solution.
• Perform activity based cost calculations and support proactive and competitive responses to tenders (RFQ’s).
• Presenting advanced solutions to customer, engaging in commercial discussions and persuading stakeholders of the strenghts of a warehouse solution.

What we would like you to bring

• Master’s degree in logistics or an equivalent qualification gained through relevant experience.
• At least five years of experience in warehouse solution engineering, with a proven track record in production or logistics engineering.
• Knowledge of automated warehouse solutions or logistics IT solutions; basic AutoCAD experience is an advantage.
• Ability to work independently and autonomously, with a self-motivated, results-driven, and hands‑on approach.
• Proven ability to lead large projects, delegate tasks, and coordinate the work of others.
• Strong experience in activity-based cost calculations, rate development, and advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent communication, problem‑solving, meeting leadership, and presentation skills when working with internal and external customers and suppliers.
• Fluent written and spoken Dutch and English; French is an advantage. Willingness to travel across the Benelux region for projects and customer assignments.
