EngiFlex BV is seeking a hands-on Senior Data Engineer in Belgium to lead the rollout of Microsoft Fabric, set up the platform, and build initial pipelines. You will coach the internal team, establish robust data architectures, and ensure sustainable long-term ownership while aligning with BI practices and DevOps.

The role requires deep experience with Fabric, data lakes, and data pipelines, plus strong Python, Power BI skills, and a collaborative leadership style.

Tasks and responsibilities

We are looking for a hands-on Senior Data Engineer to help build and roll out Microsoft Fabric, establish strong foundations, and coach the internal team through best practices and structured knowledge transfer. In the first phase, you will play a key role in the implementation, set up the platform, create the initial pipelines, and demonstrate effective ways of working.

Key responsibilities

• Support the end-to-end implementation of Microsoft Fabric, from initial setup to production-ready solutions.
• Design and implement a Medallion Architecture within Fabric, aligned with industry standards and data architecture best practices.
• Build scalable and reliable data pipelines and data transfer flows using Python notebooks and Microsoft Fabric Data Engineering capabilities.
• Help shape a robust data lake approach and broader data & services architecture within the platform.
• Integrate Power BI and Microsoft BI practices, including DevOps-oriented ways of working, into the data development lifecycle.
• Contribute to data visualization enablement by ensuring well-structured and reusable data solutions for reporting needs.
• Provide hands‑on coaching, workshops, and knowledge‑sharing sessions to strengthen the internal data team's capabilities.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure a smooth handover and sustainable long‑term ownership.

Your profile

• You have proven experience delivering Microsoft Fabric solutions in production environments.
• You bring strong expertise in data architecture, data & services architecture, data lakes, and ETL/ELT or broader data transfer processes.
• You have solid experience designing Medallion Architectures, data pipelines, and Fabric-based data platforms.
• You are proficient in Python, notebooks, and modern data engineering workflows.
• You are familiar with Power BI, Microsoft BI, data visualization concepts, and DevOps practices and tools.
• You communicate clearly and can translate complex topics into understandable guidance or training.
• You enjoy coaching others, sharing knowledge, and helping a team grow in maturity.
• You combine initiative and leadership with a collaborative mindset.
• You are a pragmatic, hands‑on problem solver, not only a designer or architect.
• You communicate in Dutch or French, and in English.
