Job summary

Engibex is seeking a senior mechanical designer to design mechanical and piping installations on site, from concept to execution, under project management supervision. You will translate client requirements into technical designs and coordinate 3D layouts and drafting.

Requirements include a 5+ year track record in designing process installations, proficiency in AutoCAD and Plant 3D, knowledge of PED/ATEX regulations, and fluency in Dutch and English. On-site presence is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanics or electromechanics.
• Minimum 5 years designing process installations in industry.
• Experience with AutoCAD and ACAD Plant 3D; Revit or Inventor a plus.
• 3D layout experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of PED, ATEX, VLAREM regulations.
• Basic knowledge of chemistry, electricity, and automation.
• VCA certification is mandatory.
• Fluent in Dutch and English; basic German and French.

Responsibilities

• Translate client requirements into technical design for equipment, piping and mechanical components.
• Coordinate PFDs and P&IDs drawings with a drafter.
• Create 3D layouts and detailed drawings, or coordinate drafting.
• Prepare piping specifications and isometrics.
• Perform basic calculations (pipe sizing, pump capacity, PED class).
• Provide risk analysis input and ensure implemented measures.
• Prepare bids docs and execution files.
• Support procurement and budgeting for projects.
• Coordinate with site managers during execution and startup.
• Maintain as-built technical documentation.
