TFC Advisory seeks a Senior Investment Manager to be the right hand of the Head of Growth, deploying over €200 million in energy transition champions across Europe. You will source, analyse, execute, and actively follow-up growth investments, collaborating closely with the Head of Growth and the investment team.

The role involves leading due diligence, structuring transactions, and contributing to portfolio governance, with travel across Europe as needed.

Qualifications

• Typically 7–12 years of relevant experience in growth equity, private equity, M&A or venture capital.
• Master’s degree in economics, management, finance, law or engineering; MBA or CFA is a plus.
• Prior experience investing in or advising energy transition, climate, circular economy or sustainable infra sectors is preferred.
• Intellectual breadth to understand energy transition ecosystems and subsectors.
• Comfort handling sourcing, due diligence, negotiation, structuring and closing.
• Ability to govern portfolio companies and engage with founders/management.
• Strong alignment with client’s vision and impact objectives.

• Support portfolio companies’ growth and governance, including board involvement.
• Monitor performance and provide governance-driven recommendations to the IC.
• Mentor junior team members and help shape sourcing, processes and reporting.

About our client

Our client is a fast-growing, international investment holding headquartered in Brussels and with offices in Paris. The position of Sr. Investment Manager

In this context, our client is seeking a Sr. Investment Manager to serve as the right hand of the Head of its Growth team and to contribute to the deployment of more than €200 million in energy transition champions across Europe and beyond.

The selected candidate will work in tandem with the Head of Growth and the investment team on the sourcing, analysis, execution and active follow-up of direct growth investments within the energy transition thematic (including adjacencies in circular economy, sustainable mobility & logistics, and sustainable infrastructure where relevant).

Main responsibilities

Typical responsibilities include, inter alia:

• Identify, originate and evaluate investment opportunities through a deep understanding of market dynamics in the energy transition space and its adjacencies.
• Build and maintain a proprietary network of entrepreneurs, advisors, co-investors and intermediaries to support differentiated deal flow.
• Lead the coordination and execution of due diligence workstreams, including commercial, financial, ESG, tax and legal due diligence, as well as financial modelling and valuation.
• Structure and negotiate transactions end-to‑end, including shareholders’ agreements, governance frameworks and financing packages.
• Prepare and present high‑quality investment memoranda and recommendations to the Investment Committee.
• Support the strategic growth of portfolio companies, including the assessment and execution of add‑on acquisitions and value‑creation initiatives; take an active role in portfolio company governance, including board representation where appropriate.
• Monitor the ongoing financial, operational and ESG performance of portfolio companies and formulate recommendations to the Investment Committee.
• Contribute to the development of the investment team: mentor junior team members, and help shape sourcing, process and reporting standards.

Profile sought

• Typically 7–12 years of relevant experience in growth equity, private equity, M&A, venture capital — with a demonstrable track record of leading transactions end-to‑end.
• Master’s degree in economics, management, finance, law or engineering; an MBA, CFA or equivalent qualification is a plus.
• Prior experience investing in or advising companies active in the energy transition, climate, clean energy, circular economy, sustainable mobility, logistics or sustainable infrastructure sectors is strongly preferred.
• Intellectual breadth to understand the dynamic nature of the energy transition ecosystem, the evolution of its sub‑sectors, and the development trajectory of companies operating within them.
• Comfortable handling diverse tasks, from active sourcing and due diligence through negotiation, legal structuring and closing, to post‑investment value creation and governance.
• Comfortable taking an active and constructive role in the governance of portfolio companies, engaging with founders and management teams with both conviction and humility.
• Genuine alignment with our client’s vision and values, and the ambition to make a positive societal impact through the work.

Skills and qualifications

• Intellectual curiosity and a rigorous analytical mindset, with the ability to understand a broad set of issues and distil them into clear recommendations.
• Strong numerical skills, including the ability to build robust financial models from scratch and work with large datasets.
• Solid command of the deal‑making process, and specifically: (i) comfort with financial analysis and valuation; (ii) fluency with deal-making language and practices; and (iii) experience with investment contract drafting and negotiation.
• Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities and solving problems.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills, capable of building rapport with and influencing internal and external stakeholders at senior level.
• Preference for teamwork and a sense of common purpose; proven experience in supporting and developing other team members.
• High attention to detail and strong writing skills.
• Ability to multi‑task, prioritise and manage deadlines in a lean, senior team environment.
• Fluent in English; working proficiency in French is strongly preferred; additional European languages are an advantage.
