Vulcain Engineering Group | Belgium is seeking a Geotechnical & Hydrogeology QA Engineer to support the construction of a major industrial renewable energy facility. You will lead QA for geotechnical, earthworks, foundations and groundwater management to ensure compliance with project specs and environmental rules.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Construction, Environmental and Regulatory teams, coordinating interfaces and documenting quality records throughout the project execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master in Geotechnical Engineering, Geology or Hydrogeology.
• At least 10 years in industrial, infrastructure or large-scale construction projects.
• Strong geotechnical, foundations, earthworks and groundwater management experience.
• Experience performing site supervision, QA/QC during construction.
• Knowledge of environmental compliance and groundwater regulations.
• Familiar with Belgian regulatory framework and permitting processes.
• Experience coordinating contractors, engineering teams and external stakeholders.
• Proficiency in French and English is mandatory.

• Review geotechnical and hydrogeological studies to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Assess and validate construction methodologies for earthworks, foundations and groundwater management.
• Perform quality surveillance on earthworks, excavation, ground improvement and foundations.
• Ensure implementation of project quality requirements and technical specifications.
• Monitor environmental requirements related to groundwater and soil management.
• Identify, document and track non-conformities and ensure corrective actions.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Construction, Environmental and Quality teams.
• Support interactions with regulatory authorities and external stakeholders.
• Prepare inspection reports, quality records and progress updates.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in geotechnical and environmental quality management.

As part of our activities in the Renewable Energy sector, we are looking for a Geotechnical & Hydrogeology QA Engineer to support the construction of a major industrial renewable energy facility. You will act as the Quality Assurance focal point for geotechnical, earthworks, foundation and groundwater management activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, environmental requirements and applicable regulations throughout the construction phase. Working closely with Engineering, Construction, Environmental and Regulatory stakeholders, you will contribute to the safe and compliant delivery of critical infrastructure works.

ABOUT THE POSITION:

• Review geotechnical and hydrogeological studies, reports and recommendations to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Assess and validate construction methodologies proposed by contractors for earthworks, foundations and groundwater management activities.
• Perform quality surveillance and inspections on earthworks, excavation, ground improvement and foundation construction activities.
• Ensure implementation of project quality requirements and technical specifications throughout execution.
• Monitor compliance with environmental requirements related to groundwater protection, dewatering activities and soil management.
• Identify, document and follow up non-conformities, ensuring corrective actions are implemented effectively.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Construction, Environmental and Quality teams to ensure proper interface management.
• Support interactions with regulatory authorities, permitting bodies and external stakeholders when required.
• Prepare inspection reports, quality records and progress updates for project management.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to geotechnical and environmental quality management.

ABOUT YOU:

• Bachelor or Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in industrial, infrastructure or large-scale construction projects.
• Strong experience in geotechnical engineering, foundations, earthworks and groundwater management.
• Experience performing site supervision, quality assurance or quality control activities during construction projects.
• Good understanding of environmental compliance requirements and groundwater-related regulations.
• Strong knowledge of the Belgian regulatory framework and permitting environment.
• Experience coordinating contractors, engineering teams and external stakeholders.
• Professional proficiency in French and English is mandatory.
